Hotel Reviews Amsterdam-Zaandam (Golden Tulip)

Nice tourist hotel and staff were very good. Good location close to Amsterdam and just at the Zaandam train station. Only downside is that the hotel group is building another hotel just across the road so the building works during the week were very noisy, very early. Hence the low mark on room quietness. At the weekend there is no work. I would definitely consider staying here if visiting the area again.

Nice hotel. Very conveniently located to public transport, and also convenient for a car. Staff were friendly.

Price of breakfast is too high compared to the quality you get

Price on venere.com was waaay lower than hotel's "normal", so rooms were fantastic for 40 eur/night. Both receptionist were very professional and solved our problems with non-flushing toilet by giving us another room in an instant. Really great service. I recommend it!

As I forgot to order a no-smoking room, I was given on my arrival a smoking room where the smell was unbearable. Fortunately, from the second night on, I was moved to a no-smoking room and my whole stay was perfect in this hotel.

Very nice hotel! Good staf. Outside city but trainstation next door made it a small problem. The price is definitely ok. Restaurant is good. Would come back.

For a weekend Amsterdam, the hotel is perfect. Located next to the railway station so that you can leave your car at the hotel parking.

The area doesnt inspire confidence. Right next to the train station... our room window was 10 feet from a public walkway leading to the train station. Easy to find by car though.

Overall myself and my husband enjoyed our few days stay, however there was just two things we had a problem with, the matresses on the beds were quite soft and we would have preferred a double room rather than a twin room which was all that was available at time of booking, but if ever in Amsterdam again we would have no hesitation in staying there again.

If you are looking for good accomodation at an unbelievably good budget price you can find no better than this! We paid 79euros per night for the double-room 4* accomodation (the normal cost at the hotel is 185euros). Clean, secure room (with electronic safe), Satelite TV, shower/bath and towels changed daily. We had twin beds pushed together (the only slight inconvience) but this was not a problem when we thought about how much we saved by avoiding the central grotty city 2* hotels. Staying next to Zaandam Train Station, a fast and inexpensive 10mins train ride (2 stops) away from Amsterdam Central Station this was probably MORE convienent than staying at our originally planned Museum-Quarter hotel! Best avoid the Breakfast tho (unless you can afford 14euros each per day!?) and go to local shops instead. If I return to the 'Dam i'll certainly check this place out again!

Hotel stay was pleasent experience. It is very close to Zandaam station thus saves lot of travel time. Staff is very welcoming and helping. Rooms are clean and in good conditions. Certainly recommend to anyone.

Just wish that we were advised that this hotel was not central Amsterdam as this was not explained properly and we thought we were staying in the centre other than that we had a lovely time plus we were not informed that there was a protest in Amsterdam tht weekend against the government with 220000 people attending in Dam square. People should be advised of this. Kind Regards Manwara Choudhury

It's an Hotel situated near amsterdam (12Km)at Zaandam town. The remarcable thing is that the railway station is in touch with the hotel and there is a train to amsterdam every ten minutes:it takes more or less ten minutes to arrive at centraal station (amsterdam)!very good!!

Excellent customer service at the hotel, rooms were clean, tidy and were perfect for the stay. The hotel is located outside of Amsterdam central and approximately 10-15 mins train journey away from the centre, although this was not inconvenient at all (because of the number of trains)it would have been nice to know this in advance. All in all, i would definately stay again. There is no need to stay in central Amsterdam (with central Amsterdam prices) if you plan to spend your day away from your hotel room in the cofee shops as I did....you have far more money for 'coffee'.

I had some problem with my credit card and I have'nt found any comprehension by the hotel staff!!!

basically it was Ok, however there were 3 points I did not like: 1.The breakfast charge was 13.50 euro per person per day and in my oppinion it's deadly expensive, taking into account that you can get the same breakfast for 5-8 euro in Amsterdam and for the 14 euro to have relatively good dinner. Besides this value is not included into the room rate but going on top. 2.I've been harried up by room service to leave the room for cleaning when i stayed in a room up to 12 p.m.and that contradicts with 4*hotel rules 3. The hotel infrasructure does not comply with 4 stars level

The hotel is nothing special but serves the basic needs of the traveller. We found the room a little small, noisy (traffic)and short on fresh air.

The dining was very good at a fair price, Business facilities were almost non existant Costs for phone use were " EXCESSIVE" much more that top hotels i have stayed at in Hong Kong China etc. eg overseas call cost over 6 euro per min.

Hotel right beside Railway Station so easy for travel to Amsterdam. Nice hotel and an excellent price. Food was very nice, buffet breakfast a little predicatable but with a decent selection. I would recommend this hotel again and would certainly return if I visit Amsterdam again

We enjoyed our stay here. It is incredibly close to the train station and just 2 stops away from Amsterdam. The room was clean and the staff was accomodating. The breakfast is a little pricey, but good if you don't feel like searching for a place to eat. The free internet access in the lobby was very helpful and appreciated. I would stay here again and recommend it to friends.

On your website, there is a picture showing a swimming-pool and a fitness center at the hotel. We choiced this hotel for the swimming pool and were disapointed because there had no pool. The reception at the hotel checked your web site, and the hotel in particularly and constated the same thing: "You show a swimming-pool at the Zandam Tulip Inn Hotel" (netherlands) It's a shame because we trust to you. Hoping we will receive a correct answer and my money-back Regards Mrs Boesnach

I was concerned that the location was too far from the centre of Amsterdam, but instead it proved to be an excellent base with good facilities locally. The staff were excellent and could not have been more helpful.
