The hotel is literally surrounded on all sides by famous churches and holy sites commemorating events mentioned in the Bible including the Chapel of Ascension, the Pater Noster Church, Dominus Flevit and the Garden of Gethsemane. A walk to St. Stephan's Gate in the Old City takes about 15-20 minutes via the Garden of Gethsemane. The view along the way is stunning.

La chambre, ainsi que l'hôtel, étaient sommaires. Mais le personnel était très accueillant et d'une grande gentillesse. Des efforts de modernisation matérielle étaient en cours. La situation de l'hôtel est particulièment bonne, puisque nous avions devant nous le panorama grandiose de la vieille ville de Jérusalem, à laquelle il est possible d'accèder à pieds. Nous avons apprécié la diversité des groupes de pèlerins qui sont accueillis dans cet hôtel et, globalement, malgré la vétusté des installations, nous gardons un excellent souvenir de notre séjour dans cet établissement et de notre séjour à Jérusalem.

Mount of Olives Hotel - Comment s'y rendre

By car
From the airport, take the Ayalon Highway east to Jerusalem. It is approx. a 50 minute drive. Upon arrival, follow the signs to the Old City. Go clockwise around the historic golden walls of Jerusalem from Damascus Gate to Lion's Gate. The incline of the Mount of Olives is just opposite Lion's Gate. Continue along the road a bit further until you reach the The Garden of Gethsemene. Look for the Church of All Nations, turn left and continue eastward & up. After a fairly steep climb, the twisting & narrow road will suddenly end in a "T". Turn right and drive about 15 meters. The hotel is located next to the Chapel of the Ascension.

By public transportation
It's possible to take a shared taxi from the airport to Damascus Gate bus station in Jerusalem. From there, take bus #75 to the Mount of Olives Hotel. It's also possible to take a bus from the airport to the Central Bus Station. From there, take another bus to Damascus Gate, and then bus #75 to the Mount of Olives Hotel. Please be aware that bus service from Damascus Gate to the Mount of Olives will start no earlier than 6:00 am. and stops at approx. 9:00 pm. Also, airport pickup is available upon request for approx. $55 USD for a four passenger taxi including luggage.
