extérieur Hôtel Pousada de Elvas - Santa Luzia extérieur Situated in the heart of this fortified frontier town, the Pousada de Elvas Hotel Santa Luzia is near to all of Elvas' attractions, such as the forts of Nossa Sra. da Graça, Santa Luzia, the castle and the town's star-shaped walls, which are among the most complex and best-preserved military fortifications in Europe, let alone Portugal. A graceful aqueduct, the Aqueduto da Amoreira still supplies water to the town, built between 1498 and 1622 on the foundations of a Roman one.

This luxurious boutique hotel in Elvas was one of the first Pousada hotels in Portugal. It was established in 1942 and has been going strong ever since. The Pousada Santa Luzia is renowned for the high quality of its restaurant's cuisine, introducing guests to many of the Alentejo region's gastronomic specialities, both sweet and savoury.

As well enjoying a few delicious meals, you can lounge around the swimming pool or enjoy a game of singles or doubles on the Pousada de Elvas' tennis court. A chess set, playing cards and dominoes are also available if you fancy some less energetic entertainment.
