Situated in one of the most charming and rural places on the west side of Madeira Island, Colina da Fajã offers nine rooms all with a great view over the ocean and the surrounding forest.

Restored in February 2007 to hotel, this traditional Madeira house from the beginning of the 20th-century, features: a games room; a reading room with a fireplace; an outdoor heated swimming pool (25ºC); a barbeque; and a courtesy self-service bar that allows you to sample various drinks, including regional wines and homemade liquors.

After breakfast clients can use free of charge the fully equipped kitchen to make their meals or a coffee/tea.

Colina da Fajã it’s placed in the middle of a walking trail, “Levada Nova”. It’s one of the major “levadas”, comes from Ribeira Brava, it passes in front of the hotel and goes until Ponta do Pargo.

Colina da Fajã - Comment s'y rendre

By car
If you follow this description our hotel should be easy to find. It is located in Fajã da Ovelha.
For the first time, you will take from the airport to the hotel 1hour and 20minutes.


At the airport, take the "Via Rapida" (dual carriageway) towards Ribeira Brava. In Ribeira Brava you will find a roundabout. Take the direction of Ponta do Sol (through a tunnel). At the next roundabout take the direction of Madalena do Mar, the road leads again through a tunnel. Pass through Madalena do Mar until you arrive at another roundabout where you will have the following choices: Lombo do Doutor, Calheta center (a point in a circle), Estrela, Prazeres and Fajã da Ovelha. Take the direction of Fajã da Ovelha. From here it’s 20 minutes more until Colina da Fajã.

After 2 tunnels, you will see an exit, indicating Paul do Mar, Jardim do Mar and Estr. Calheta, just ignore and go forward. Again after two tunnels you will find another roundabout, take the first exit, Fajã da Ovelha. You will pass trough Prazeres, stay forward until the end of the “Via Rapida” were you will find the last roundabout. Take the first exit and then turn left to Fajã da Ovelha.

Now you are in the regional road, and you will find more curves. After 5 minutes driving you will find a crossing indicating to the left Fajã da Ovelha, Paul do Mar and Jardim do Mar, don’t turn left, stay forward. Only 9 more curves and you will find at you left side a plaque indicating Colina da Fajã. Just put the car in the first gear and drive until the end of the road, we will be at reception waiting for you.
