The Pousada Nossa Senhora Assunção in Arraiolos is located within the white-washed walls of a 16th century convent, which has been fully-restored into a modern luxury hotel. A beautiful place to stay, guests are sure to marvel at the convent's 17th century church and its splendid façade with gargoyles and a Manueline portal, as well as its lively interior, decorated with blue and white painted ceramic tiles (azulejos) featuring scenes from the bible. There is also an elegant 2-storey cloister, built in a late Renaissance style with Tuscan columns on the ground floor and Doric columns on the first floor.
