About Farm House Preggio

exterior A charming Farmhouse in Umbria, between Tuscany and Trasimeno Lake. Seventy hectares of tranquillity and silence. No noise, no traffic, no view on highways (the only road you will see is that to get by us), no buildings nearby, no GMO fields, nothing….! A wide valley on horseback of a stream dotted with forests, olive trees, pastures and organic farming. On the opposite a shepherd is handling his sheep and at the bottom of the valley, in the distance, is heard of a herd Chianine. And even the night has its charm: the lights of Castel Rigone in the distance, few huts scattered with the only courtesy lamp for travellers and the stars above your head; here in Preggio you can really understand why they call it "Milky Way"(How long is that you are unable to see it?). If you want we can also turn off all our lights to let you admire it better.

How to reach Farmhouse Preggio

By car
Leave the highway Firenze-Roma at “Valdichiana Bettolle”.
Take the free-way direction “Perugia”.
Exit at “Passignano EST”.
Follow sign to “Castel Rigone”.
The scenic road climbs trough the hills, reach and cross Castel Rigone proceeding on the main road (in direction of Umbertide).
A few km. after Castel Rigone you get a fork, take left to “Preggio”.
Reach the tiny village of Preggio (since you left Passignano EST it’s roughly 17 Km).
When in the “centre” :-) of the town, you’ll have a square on your right, you take left descending trough the houses, follow the u-turn and then proceed in the countryside.
After almost 1 km. the paved road ends, and become gravel road.
After further 1,8 km of gravel road you’re arrived, the sign “Preggio Azienda Agricola” is on your left. From the square of Preggio it’s roughly 2,5 km.

Another possibility is reaching Cesena and then follow the E45:

Leave the highway Bologna-Ancona at Cesena and follow the free-way E45 in direction of Roma.
After the exit “Città di Castello sud”, leave the free-way at “PROMANO” and follow the state road to “Umbertide”.
After 6/7 km turn right direction “Mercatale/Tuoro” (Lisciano Niccone).
After 10 km or so you’ll find on the left the street sign to “Preggio”, that you’ll reach after further 7 km.
Then, obviously, the same indications mentioned above.


By train
Closest Airport is Perugia Airport, some 40 minutes away. Shuttle service available on request for a nominal fee.
