When we arrived we have received just the key and few information. As soon as we entered in the rooms we foud a lot of flies. The TV is an old 14" with Satellite. We were expecting tipical food for breakfast considering we were in a Farm Home but nothing special. it's at 15 minutes by car from Siena.

The place was hard to find using the map only. But once you have found it, it reveals all its qualities : cosy and quiet; nested in the woods near the city and close to all facilities. Except for the noise from the water heater during the night the rooms were comfortable and spacious for 2 couples.

The farmhouse is very nice but it is very far away from everything. We had a car so we could drive to other areas but found it very hard to find with the directions they gave us.

My family, mother in law and niece were on a whirlwind trip of Italy, visiting Rome, Florence, Siena, and Venice. Based on Trip Advisor, we found the listing for La Selva on the Venere site. Other traveller's reviews sounded positive and we decided to book. The children knew that the farm had a dog named Charlie and so were looking forward to this part of our trip the most - I was worried in case they were disappointed. Driving from Florence, we stopped at Pisa and somehow got on the wrong road, taking 2 and a half hours to get to Siena and nearly another 2 hours trying to find La Selva! When we eventually found it opposite a riding school, it was 7:30. The owner's son let us in and showed us our rooms. We had one room in the bed and breakfast section and one apartment. Both were very nice and most important for me, very clean. Marco also recommended the nearby restaurant, La Vecchia Miniera, which was very good. Food was excellent, considering we were so tired we had gone past being hungry and most of us did not want to go out to dinner, but ended up each having 3 courses.(And returned the following evening too!). Luckily the children met Charlie who greeted them and was very friendly, and Mario the owner let us take him for a walk around the farm compound - takes about 35 minutes. The children also enjoyed the pool very much although my children found the water very cold at first. The views from the apartment windows were spectacular. The breakfast which was included for those in the bed and breakfast, and prearranged with the owner for the apartment at a small extra charge, was excellent. The children also loved looking at the beautiful horses on the farm. On the whole, La Selva is a really peaceful and relaxing base. We are so impressed by this short trip to Siena that we are sure we will return in future, hopefully for a much longer stay.

We really enjoyed our stay, owners very helpful but advert; was misleading, it listed Restuarant & Cafe. Only a cold meal if ordered in morning was available( from July a hot meal can be provided)we were there in June. As have sore Hip it was a nuisance have to drive out for a coffee even. Advert: should be rectified now. A lovely pool and surroundings otherwise.

Beautiful location and surroundings. After hot, crowded August days in Rome, it was a pleasure to arrive at La Selva, discover the magnificant horses and enjoy the wonderful farmhouse rooms, pool and gorgeous scenery. Very good self-serve breakfast. A car is a must as there are no restaurants or facilities nearby. The website driving directions are good (though the website maps are not much use). Overall, pricey but a beuatiful, romantic spot from which to explore Siena, Florence, Pisa and Tuscany.

We booked a 2+2 apartment but were surprised and pleased to find a property more like a gite with 2 floors and a kitchen (no mention of this in details). Siena 15 mins drive, supermarket 10 mins. Directions were dreadful we spent about 2 hours driving around the wrong area - better instructions needed. Property was very nice, pool area great, very relaxing and quiet. Breakfast ok. Hot water ran out v. quickly then no water at all.

7 of us were perfectly accomadated. Large acreage raising horses. The dog, Charlie, led 5 of us on a wonderful hike. YES Charlie led the way. After 3 days in Rome it was exactly what we needed to relax. Owner mapped us to some great wineries. Next trip will be one day in Rome and on to Siena and La Selva. Don't hesitate to book this marvelous agratourismo!!!

My family and I had a relaxing three night stay had a relaxing three night stay at this deghtful property. The friendliness of the families running this farm stay was a bonus. Lovely homely touches appeared throughtout the apartment in which we stayed. Car transport is recommended to allow easy access to and from the property (bus services are not entirely convenient). Recommended.

We chose La Selva because we had rented a car and wanted somewhere out of town from Sienna. La Selva has an outdoor swimming pool which was especially nice on warm sunny days. The room we stayed in was nice, a comfortable bed and wonderful views. You are unable to use the horses on the farm, which we were disappointed about. However there is a riding school 5km from La Selva. Breakfast is great and wide variety. It was also available till 10:30am which was great for a lie-in. Staff were welcoming and helpful but spoke a little english. La Selva is about 10 minutes drive with free parking at night, but it is easy to get lost in Sienna!!

Great value for the price. We had a very spacious two storey apartment with great facilities. The pool is lovely with a nice view over the surrounding valley. Less than 5 minutes to Siena in a car - but I would recommend a car otherwise you are likely to be stuck there. Despite what your booking says - check whether breakfast is included before tucking in... the owner might have other ideas...

Beautiful location only 10 min from Siena. Very friendly people. Best recommendations.

Warm, cosy room with fridge but it lacked a nice view of the surrounding area. Unfortunatley the restsaurant is only open Fri & Sat but a close by restaurant was recommended to us, unfortunately the spoke no English and the menu was in Italian. Would have liked to be given info on bikes etc but the young male hotelier who welcomed us was obviously keen to finish his shift. The woman was nice and made a restaurant booking for us.

We spent our first three nights at La Selva. Staying here requires a car but it is only a 15 minute ride to the historic district (Centrale). Breakfast was good ... adding cheese and salami would have made it excellent. The staff speaks little English but we were able to get everything we needed. This had the best shower of our three hotels with plenty of HOT water. Next time in Tuscany (and we hope there is a next time) - we'll stay on the horse farm in The Woods (La Selva) ... but not as woody as the name implies. Best place to visit while staying at La Selva ... Monteriggioni ... the ulitmate mini hilltown. Pace e Bene

I highly would recommend this location to whomever that would like to enjoy the "agriturism" experience at very affordable rates. The only drawback could be that no lunch or dinner meals are available. Therefore, this might not be the best location for people who would like to lock themselves in a location for relaxing. However, it is definetely the best location for people who, like I did, have plans to travel during the day and arrive to a quiet and relaxing property at the end of the day.

Very calm and relaxing, nice pool, very friendly and good service. Very helpful: moskito-nets integrated to the windows. my overall rating: excellent
