Farm House Al-Marnich - Schignano

Stayed here 2 years ago, and again this year. Both times we had a pleasant agriturismo experience with nice walks in the neighborhood, cute, rustic rooms acceptably appointed. This is NOT a luxury hotel, but it is a scenicly located reliably good agriturismo.

Presented as an accomodation in a farm, but actually quite professional, smth between a mountain refuge and a fairly comfortable hotel, composed of small refurbished houses. 8 km of a narrow mountain road between the valley and the location, superb.

Very beautiful place excellent food with home made products

This was a fabulous spot, high up in the hills above Lake Como with wonderful views. What wasn't clear from the directions we were sent is that the farm is 9 kms from the main road so that we thought initially we had missed it. The road is very winding and so you don't want to be going up and down too often. However, as the evening meals are excellent it didn't matter that we stayed home in the evenings. We noticed that quite a few of our fellow guests asked to stay on a second night so must have enjoyed it too. Saw in other reviews, people complaining about animal smells and noises but one has to ask what do they expect on a farm stay?

Beautiful place! Best breakfast you can get in a BB (homemade cheese, jam, cake, big choice and excelent quality). Rooms were simple and clean, view from the room and the private balcony was amazing. During the day there was some noise from a nearby construction site, besides that, perfectly quiet.

We could order dinner in the evening and even select from a nice menu.The goat cheese is marvellous. Flies in the room were difficult to kill.Very friendly people.

Most unique place we have stayed at. The food was excellent and the atmosphere was relaxing. Both breakfast and dinner were excellent and the staff was very pleasent. I really enjoyed checking out the goats and the natural beauty of the surroundings.

Un lugar precioso, vistas increibles. desayuno ESPECTACULAR. entre semana es tranquilo, aunque el fin de semana parece que acude más gente al restaurante. durante el mediodía-tarde (en fin de semana) se oía un desagradable ruído en la habitación, proviniente tal vez del extractor de la cocina ¿?, así que mejor no contar con hacer la siesta y salir a caminar. la perrita, un encanto!

Les plus: une très belle vue, le contact sympathique, la cuisine très correcte, le petit balcon. Les moins: le couchage, la taille de notre chambre, les chiens qui aboient toutes les nuits

Perfect place to stay. beautifull view very friendly staf.the route description could be a little more specific. great food diner as well breakfast. we were on our way home (roma-netherlands)

We had a wonderful time at Al-Marnich. I recommend it to anyone looking for something a little quiet and peaceful. The food and wine offered were excellent and the hosts were extremely welcoming! You can't go wrong staying here.

What a pleasant Italian surprise. A tourist farm with owners which showed us hospitality as we have not seen during our 5 week Italian excursion. With very limited English / German language proficiency, the owners tried their absolute best to make us feel at home. The road from Schignano to the farm is slightly nervewrecking, narrow winding road, but worth it. Rooms are small but boast their own fireplace and a small balcony. Set in the mountains and natural woods, close by Lake Como, this is the place to relax.

Cucina buona e vero! Very good dishes, friendly stuff and diverse animals (dogs, cat, goats). Really good place to relax and take tours around lake Como. Greetings to all (specially to Sara the small dog... :)!

Just special! The place & the people. Half pension recommended for good breakfast & imaginative evening menus. Take your time to get up the hill - just follow the signs from Schignano. 4 nights (in transit)were just right! We will go back!

We very muc enjoyed our stay, including the dinners and trekking atosphere.

Lovely agriturismo, a real gem. Unfortunately, we only slept here one night, on our way to Italy. Next time will definitely stay longer.

Staff is perfect

It was a nice stay on our way to Tuscany. Even the way along a part of Comer lake and then up to the little hotel was an experience. The dinner was really good in a wonderful surrounding.

If you are looking for "rustic charm" then this is the place for you. Situated on a hillside away from Lake Como, with a magnificent view. We took the evening meal, no choice but everything was 'buono', and the host is anxious for you to enjoy all the home produce.

I my wife Magda and my wife's mother were impressed by the beauty of the place but also by the hospitality of the team. Maison d'hôtes absolument fantastique: cadres, personnel, situation, nourriture. Nous recommandons vivement cet Agriturissmo!

Pendant 3 jours nous avons apprécié la chaleur de l'accueil, la beauté du site, la compagnie des 3 chiens et des chèvres blanches, les conseils, la conversation de Giulia et d'Emmanuele. Ferme auberge à recommander.

Nice place, nice people, and very good and cheap foods

Un très chaleureux accueil dans un lieu décoré avec goût et un environnement magnifique. Un seul point moins positif : le bruit. Une musique très forte jusqu'à très tard le soir et un échange téléphonique particulièrement sonore dès 5 heures du matin. Peu-être s'agissait-il d'un seul client indélicat ?

A marvellous place to stay, though a little bit isolated. It is preferable to have dinner here, but thus, the place becomes a little bit expensive. But the quietness of the place is such a wonderful thing that it is worth it.

I loved this place. Wonderful food and the owners were incredibly hospitable. Couldn't have asked for better.

What a great place to stay. A great base to tour around the lake and go hiking. Great food and hospitality offered.

Bel endroit tranquille en pleine nature. Chambre assez petite mais très propre et confortable. Accueil chaleureux et personnel courtois. Stationnement gratuit. Bon petit déjeuner. La chambre #3 possède un petit balcon avec une belle vue sur les montagnes. À environ 15 minutes de la route qui longe le lac de Côme. Les indications pour se rendre à l'hotel sont nombreuses. Très satisfait en général de cet endroit.
