Our greeting couldn't have been more sincere if we had been family arriving, and the views from the farm are incomparable!!The rooms are roomy and spotlessly clean. Our stay at the farm home of Il Vecchio Maneggio would be rated high in every category if their beds had been comfortable!! ALL beds (we spoke with the 4 other couples staying there)feel like a sheet laid over a board! Also they have 4 farm dogs that bark quite frequently through the night! The dogs are around at at all times, so if you are not comfortable with that it should be known so the choice is a guests to make.

The farm was charming. The horseback ride through the property is a must. And the dinners at an additional cost make the entire visit a wonderful experience. We opted for the dinner all 3 nights of our stay and would do it again. They were incomparable.

A place to rest and enjoy. Very well located with parking - a must in the region. Near all the best turistic scenes. Joyful ambience for dinner(optional)with guests and hosts. Very rich menu with organic products from the farm. If you are looking for a place where Nature, History and warm and welcoming people are mingled,you will find the Il Vecchio Maneggio, in the secular land of Toscana.

My wife and I stayed for two nights in mid-May. We found Il Vecchio Maneggio extremely welcoming; the owners and staff were attentive and made us feel like family. The rooms are neat and clean with private bathrooms. There's a swimming pool, horses and if you want to hike or drive around, the country side is beautiful. San Gimignano is a 5-minute drive away, you can see the towers from the property. Dinner is served to all guests in a common table, and we found the camaraderie and good spirits at the table contagious. Many items at the table are grown or processed at the farm, including the olive oil and wine, and everything was delicious! In fact, we enjoyed the first night's dinner so much we discarded our plans to eat elsewhere the next evening. We were not dissapointed. The accomodations are unpretentious, but functional and clean, and the ambiance is warm and relaxed - exactly what we had hoped for. We look forward to returning.

we really enjoyed our stay at Il Vecchio Maneggio, in fact, we liked it so much that we stayed for an extra night. The farmhouse is traditional,clean and well presented as was our room. Tiziana, the hostess, and her family were very welcomming. Breakfast is lovely, there is also the option of having a traditional, home cooked dinner in the evenings- which incorporates some of the organic produce of the farm; we felt that 27 Euro was good value for the quality and quantity of the food. The Tuscan countryside surrounds the farm house and San Gimaginano is visible on the horizon- we had a car but i think it would be possible to take a long walk. We would recommend Il Vecchio Maneggio to our friends and hope to return oneday ourselves!!

This was the highlight of our trip to Italy. The farm is beautiful and surrounded by vineyards. The owners (a family-team) are warm, informal and welcoming. They made us feel very much at home. The facilities are great - our room was clean and comfortable, and the bathroom very modern. The farm also has a swimming pool and stables if you grow tired of sightseeing. We especially enjoyed the evening meals, which will be remembered for a long time. The food and wine (in copious amounts) was delicious, most of it coming from the farm. We chatted away with our hosts and other guests until the early hours, sipping on grappa and enjoying the peace of the Tuscan countryside. It was food for the soul.

Für Tiziana und Ihr Team der "Alten Reitschule" gibt es nur ein Wort: unglaublich. Eine so offene, freundliche und hilfsbereite Atmosphäre haben wir während vieler Urlaub so noch nie erlebt. Ein Stück Paradies auf Erden mit Blick auf die Türme von St.Gimigiano,d.h. zentral in der Toskana gelegen(Siena und Florenz mit dem Auto 45-60 Min.) aber dennoch ruhig. Absolut kinderfreundlich. Eine excellente typische toskanische Küche. Blitzsaubere Zimmer und Pool.

We stayed here 17-18 March 2005. We were really delighted with the place. The hosts were warm and welcoming, the facilities were excellent, the location (outside San Gimignano but visible from our bedroom window) was delightful. We ate breakfast and dinner there, and were very impressed, especially as they grow most of the produce on the farm (including wine, olive oil, honey, saffron, cavolo nero). We highly recommend this place and would love to return one day. We had a little difficulty finding the place: the map on the Venere Website when we used it was misleading, but has now been replaced by a much better map.

I did have a little bit of a problem finding the location. I ended up driving to San Gimignano and back tracking. Location is about 3 KM from San Gimigano and takes just a couple of minutes to drive to the town. They are actually in the town of Ulignano, which was fine. I could see San Gimignano from the residence. Very pretty to look up at in the evening. I enjoyed my visit and would stay there again. it was in good location for sightseeing and the hospitality was wonderful. They were very nice and helpful. The rooms are a fine size, small bathroom in the room but a decent size. The bathrooms were modern and clean. I thought the location was better than the photos provided. There is a nice pool for realxing at. The dinners were good and the staff worked very hard to make sure everything was right. They make their own wine, olive oil and honey. They also grow saffron. Property is Surrounded by Vineyards.
