Inn Agriturismo Savoca - Piazza Armerina

Staff went out of their way to make us feel at home - even arranging riding session for my daughter on request without extra charge. They gave us a free bottle of locally produced wine when we left. Dinner quite excellent both nights - 5 course Scilian cuisine. Children loved the peacocks which came ot our door to be fed. One disappointment was the pool - not available - probably too early in the season for them?

The swimming pool is lovely, but it is open to the general public during the day so can get very crowded, and loud pop music which can be heard all over the farm is played in the afternoon. We did not enjoy this when we wanted to relax in the heat of the day.

We only stayed here for one night. The hotel is only 10 minutes drive from the Roman Villa. We were given a family room, although we booked a double room. The room was spacious and clean. There are pigs, sheep, horses and peacocks in the farm, which would be quite good for young kids. I think the some areas of the farm are being renovated so it can only gets better. The staff were very attentive, they didn't speak much English but it wasn't really an issue for us. We also had dinner at the hotel, the food was superb! We had a 5 course Italian meal for €20 each and that with drinks! There is no menu or anything just whatever the produce is in season. So..if you are in the area you should at least stop by for food ;)
