Only 12 km from medieval Siena, La Tenuta di Corsano is a timeless Tuscan estate of rolling vineyards and silver-leaved olive trees. The 17th Century farmhouse lies in the tiny, friendly hamlet of Ville
di Corsano, and consists of several lovingly-restored apartments which are available for rent throughout the year. Your hosts, the Migone Family are happy to assist with local knowledge during your holiday.

This is a delightful spot, the traditional setting of the accommodation set off by the soothing, rural surroundings. Here you can relax by the pool or in the gardens, sipping a local wine or sampling some of the local delicacies.

La Tenuta is a peaceful, stress-free country estate which produces the grapes for famed wines as well as olive oil, fruit and vegetables. For many guests the opportunity to relax by the pool, sit with a book under the shade of a fruit tree, or stroll through the grounds is all it takes to make a perfect vacation.

The pretty hamlet of Ville Di Corsano (population 200) remains untainted by heavy industry and is a friendly little place with a small supermarket, a post office and a renowned restaurant.

The 6 apartments were recently renovated to include all modern appliances while maintaining the traditional Tuscan charm. The Tenuta's shared facilities include a large swimming pool (7x14 m), a garden, a barbecue.

The largest of the apartments Le Carrozze was recently used as a set for Renzo Martinelli's 'Five Moons Plaza' starring Donald Sutherland, Giancarlo Giannini, Greg Wise and F.Murray Abraham. The film crew stayed for more than a fortnight. Donald Sutherland and Giancarlo Giannini particularly enjoyed the meals, prepared by Liliana, a host with exceptional Cooking Class skills.

double room There are six apartments which have been carefully and tastefully decorated and furnished with period pieces and antiques. The traditional whitewashed walls offer a contrast to the vibrant, warm colors of Terracotta tiles and wooden fixtures, with a result that is both airy and welcoming.

Each apartment is fully fitted and equipped, with excellent kitchen facilities, modern bathrooms and spacious, comfortable sleeping accommodation. Each of the apartments has its own delights; all have remarkable views of the vineyards and Il Granaio offers beautiful views of distant Siena from its terrace.

All of the apartments share an amazing swimming pool, which offers fantastic views across the vineyards and the beautiful Roman church. On request, breakfast, lunches and dinners by the pool can be organized for you, offering exceptional atmosphere. Closer to the pool is a common area with a barbecue. The service of a maid or a cook must be arranged at the time of booking.

How to reach Farmhouse Tenuta di Corsano

By car
FROM NORTHERN ITALY: Leave the Autostrada del Sole (A1) at FIRENZE-CERTOSA and take the Superstrada/Raccordo Firenze - Siena (motorway link road) immediately to the right of the motorway exit. Drive along this road for 65 km and exit SIENA OVEST-PORTA SAN MARCO. Drive up from the Superstrada and turn right over the bridge, away from the direction for Siena Centro onto the road n. SS 73 SENESE-ARETINA, (not down again onto the Superstrada for Grosseto and Roma). Drive along the SS 73, for Rosia, Roccastrada, and Massa Marittima. At about 1km. from the Superstrada exit, at COSTAFABBRI turn left onto a little road, sign-posted Ginestreto and VILLE di CORSANO.
After 10 km, upon reaching the tiny village of Ville di Corsano, drive as far as the medieval squarish tower and turn left beyond it following directions for MONTERONI D'ARBIA. After a very short distance, 600 meters, turn left onto a white road of cypress trees signposted FATTORIA DI CORSANO and after few meters turn right at the first track and drive downhill alongside olive trees and vineyards. You will see the farm ahead of you, enter the gate - you have arrived at Tenuta di Corsano. Nanni and Liliana will meet you there, they are the owners and your hosts. COMING FROM FLORENCE AIRPORT, FIRENZE PERETOLA: Turn right on leaving the airport and follow the green motorway signs up the road. Enter the Autostrada del Sole A1 motorway at FIRENZE - NORD following the direction for ROMA. Drive past the Firenze Signa exit and leave the Autostrada at the exit FIRENZE - CERTOSA. From here follow the instructions as above.

COMING FROM ROME: In order to exit the airport follow the green signs for ROMA AUTOSTRADA. Continue along this road for 12 km and exit at the sign FIRENZE AURELIA SS1 which will lead you to the ring road around ROME (GRANDE RACCORDO ANULARE). After approx. 30 km exit at FIRENZE USCITA 10. After a further 20 km you will come to a toll gate. Take your ticket by pressing the red button and then continue on the A1 motorway in the direction of FIRENZE. Continue for approx. 180 km and exit at VALDICHIANA/BETTOLLE and drive in direction of SIENA for approximately 44 km where you will find the exit to TANGENZIALE (dual carriage-way) in direction of FIRENZE (and not SIENA CENTRO!).
Now follow this road for 4.5 km and stay on your right hand side, and after the tunnel take the exit towards TANGENZIALE FIRENZE. Exit the dual carriage way at SIENA SUD and turn right at the stop sign following indications to ROMA GROSSETO AREZZO.
Follow this road that goes under the superstrada bridge and carry on straight leaving the exit to the Superstrada to your right, following signs to COSTAFABBRI. Continue uphill for 1 km along this steep and narrow road (drive slowly!!). and at the junction turn left in direction of VILLE DI CORSANO. Proceed on this road for 9.4 km until you reach the little village of VILLE DI CORSANO. Go past the tower on your left and, after few meters, turn left towards MONTERONI D'ARBIA (10 km). After 0.8 km turn left into the white track with cypress trees. You are now on the private road to the farmhouse. Turn right at the first track and go downhill, then enter the open gate. You have arrived at TENUTA DI CORSANO where Nanni and Liliana, your hosts, will be there to meet you.

COMING FROM PISA AIRPORT: Leave the exit from the car park at the airport following signs for FIRENZE and drive along this dual carriageway until you reach the junction with the motorway Autostrada del Sole A1 (E35). Join the Autostrada in the direction ROMA and leave it shortly afterwards at the exit FIRENZE - CERTOSA. From here follow the directions above.
