good location between Florence and Siena. little choice for breakfast, no cappucino. shampoo/shower soap in little bottles (1 time use) at arrival, no refill or new bottles although stay 5 nights. Property crowded with cats.

Il Columbaio was a delight in every way! Our room looked out over the swimming pool towards acres of vineyards, all neatly tended. The owner and staff were very cordial and helped recommend a wonderful nearby restaurant that we would not have found on our own. The location gave us plenty of opportunity for day trips in Tuscany. Only limited English was spoken, but we communicated nevertheless. Suggestions: A better set of driving directions would have helped. Also, we were never given a specific check-in time. We arrived early on a Sunday afternoon and had a 3+ hour wait until someone came to the reception area. The weather was fine and there were good places to sit and relax, so this wasn't a major problem for us.

My family (husband, mother in law and 4 children) had a wonderful time. The Fattoria was a pleasant surprise, clean and comfortable. It was very peaceful, with beautiful views of Monteriggioni and the surrounding countryside. My kids loved the pool. Only downside is the lack of reasonably priced eating establishments in the area. The choice is limited to low priced bars or expensive restaurants with nothing in between.
