It is part of an ancient country estate counting 130 acrwes land, where with respect for the land and its natural balance wheat, sunflowers and, above all, the vines for Vino Nobile di Montepulciano are grown.

Woods full of wild animals surround the promises. The resort consist of various buildings grouped around the central body of a former monastery, wich was first mentioned in the 11th century.

There are possibilities for hiking and biking and for fishing in either of the two small lakes belonging the estate. Guests can purchase Vino Nobile di Montepulciano and Extra Virgin Olive Oil from the farm, produced in the small area of Valiano.

The Agriturismo Terrarossa is in the commune of Montepulciano to the confinements between Umbria and Tuscany, to few kilometers from suburbs of Pienza, Chiusi and Cortona and to brief distance from the Trasimeno Lake.

Near Agriturimo Terrarossa you could visit ancient medieval villages as: Montepulciano (15 km), Pienza (29 Km), Cortona (16 Km), Chiusi (a 21 Km), Chianciano (21 Km), and near Trasimeno Lake, Castiglione del lago (16 Km).

Farm House Fattoria Terrarossa guest room apartment - double room At the moment, following a period of careful renovation, there are eight appealing apartments, housing two to six visitors. They are well furnished and feature every comfort, including independent heating, a well-equipped kitchen, satellite TV, telephone, Jacuzzi, open chimney and othere luxuries.

All apartments have one or two bedrooms, a living room with a kitchen area and a bathroom.Guests will find inspiring spaces for reading and relaxing, a beautiful swimming pool, a panoramic terrace, solarium, barbeque and a bread-oven with covered area.

We arrived after check in and it wasn't busy so there was no one around. They left us a note and a key but showing up to an empty house way out in the country and being by ourselves the first night was a little spooky. Otherwise it was incredible and very beautiful. Get there in time for check in! Also, we didn't pay attention to the location so it was a surprise that this house wasn't right outside Montepulciano. It's a good 10-15 min. drive to town.

This is a must see for wine country lovers. A beautifuly romantic site offering some of the best views Italy as a whole has to offer. However the staff is minimal and rarely present. No phones in rooms and no lobby to make any emergency calls. I believe that this a fairly new establishement and needs time to bloom to its maximum potential. They would just need more staff and an on-site wine store(very important!) and it would be perfect.

My daughter and I stayed at Fattoria Terrarossa for four fabulous nights. Our apartment, Violeta, was charming and spacious. The closest town, Valiano, is centrally located which made it easy for us to take day trips to Assisi, Montalcino, Pienza, Montepulciano, Cortona and Bagno Vignoni. It was also quite pleasant just to relax at Terrarossa either around the pool or just gazing at the amazing scenery. Fabrizio is a fantastic host and we would definitely return for an even longer visit.

The good: gorgeous setting in an archtypical Tuscan countryside; spacious clean room; very quiet; well equipped kitchen. The bad: remote, several kilometres down a narrow, hilly, winding almost one lane gravel road; few dining options locally; room layout was weird, with lots of stairs.

The staff was very helpful. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. We had a tower apartment with incredible views of the surrounding vineyards. It was so quiet! This is the best place in the world for sleeping. There is a nice pool area with great views. The Terrarossa wine was very good and you couldn’t ask for a prettier place to drink it. The lack of onsite foodservide was not a problem as there are several excellent (and very reasonable) trottorias within 10k. The one in Valiano (less than 3k) serves a great dinner and was our coffee and pastry stop each morning – you have to see the view from the patio. We met a German couple who were there for the 3rd time in 18 months. We will definitely stay here again!

The room on first impression looked quite spacious, as it is over two levels, however the living area (kitchen/dinning area) was not terribly comfortable to hang out. Other than that, the place was fantastic with views over the vineyard, and was a great location for trips into Montepulciano and Sienna. Would highly recommend.

By car
"Highway of the Sun" Milan-Naples A1 (E35) Valdichiana exit. Take the Siena- Perugia speedway in Perugia direction up to the exit of Cortona- Montepulciano (Montepulciano direction). You have to drive in the direction of Montepulciano and Valiano. After 6 Km, to the beginning of the country of Valiano, you will find the indications for the Agriturismo Terrarossa.

By train
Siena-Chiusi line: station of Montepulciano Station.
Milano-Roma line: Terontola-Cortona Station (15 Km), in alternative Station of Chiusi (20 Km).

By airplane
The nearest airports are in Florence (120 km), in Pisa (190 km) and in Rome (220 km).

METHODS OF PAYMENT
Venere.com does not debit your credit card for your reservations. You will be asked to insert your credit card details which will be sent to the property only as a guarantee of the reservation. The bill will then have to be settled directly at the hotel. In case your chosen hotel needs a deposit, this information will be included in the "Cancellation policy" section and the deposit will have to be settled directly with the pre-selected property. It is not possible to cancel your reservation if you selected and booked a room indicated as "PREPAID/NOT REFUNDABLE". In this case, the total amount of your stay will be charged to your credit card by the hotel at the time of booking.

In High Season the least duration of the stay is of a Week (from Saturday to Saturday). In the Middle and Low Season it is possible also book for briefer periods.
