Farm House Podere Monti - Sant'Albino, Montepulciano

An excellent place for relax

Very good location, very friendly host.

The accomodations and staff were excellent. Although we did get dinged on the phones (50 cents a minute) even though we used a calling card. Breakfast was as you would expect for a typical Italian breakfast. Call ahead to the property before arriving because the family doesn't live there and the gate may be locked. (We were fortunate enough that the owner happened to arrive at the same time as us). We got there for 2 chilly nights in June. The heat was turned off as well. We were provided with an extra blanket but the run from the bed to the shower and back was not pleasant. Why do places have a heated towel rack and not have it on is my other question. I didn't get to use the pool, but, it looked relaxing. Also, the road leading to the property is misleading. It's a dirt road that is about as wide as most vehicles (we thought we were lost).

Gorgeous, very spacious rooms, each decorated slightly differently. A dream house surrounded by beautiful farm land. Dinner is only prepared on the property twice a week but they can recommend lots of great places in Montepulciano. Limited number of sun loungers next to the pool.

Although a bit far from the Montepulciano train station, and transportation not provided by the Monte Poderi, so be prepared to either rent a car or pay roughly $30 to go by arranged taxi. However, the Accomodations were wonderful. Couldnt have asked for better!! Peaceful, and beautiful, a perfect place to unwind. The Breakfast included was excellent, with fresh home made farm bread and lattes or cappuccinos made to order. The swimming pool was a perfect place to cool off after a bit of sunbathing. We were a group of four girls, and would recommend this to everyone. Especially if you are needing some down time before arriving in Rome.
