Inn Piombaia - Montalcino

Lovely place to stay. The swimming pool is smaller than it appears in the photos, but perfectly fine. We had a fantastic complementary wine tasting up at the vineyard. The people were great, the kitchen in the unit is very small - in a cupboard and fine for preparing breakfast and lunch. The beds are fabulous and the linen etc great. Views from the room are wonderful. Walking up the road and seeing fireflies at night was truly special.

We had a very spacious and well-furnished appartment,panoramic view to the landscape. Difficult to go on foot to Montalcino, you need a car.

What an amazing place to stay! Not only was the farm beautiful but it was very easy to find, close to many wonderful towns and their restaurant had amazing food. I will definately be going back there again.

Agriturismo molto bello e accogliente, immerso nella campagna di Montalcino. Vale la pena di passarci qualche giorno.

The place is located in gorgeous farm land and is part of a producing farm. They do make some excellent wines and also grappa from Brunello grapes. Excellent! You do need a car to get to the place (or spend a lot of money in taxis...

A scenic and serene location for wine tasting and exploring Montalcino and other Tuscan hill towns. The owners were very friendly and accommodating. Private tours of the vineyards are offered by family members. The tour is followed by wine tasting and hearty snacks in the Piombina's cantina. We would strongly recommend this agriturismo.

We absolutely loved this place. One of our favourite stops in our whole trip and we are already making plans to go back. Vittorio is so welcoming and so kind. And the adjacent restaurant provided some of the best meals we ate in Italy. Our lovely apartment style accomodations made us wish we were travelling with another couple to take advantage of all the space. 10 out of 10!

What a wonderful secret this place is. The owners of this property are so welcoming and helpful. My husband and I stayed for 5 nights at Piombaia in the 1 bedroom apartment. The apartment was clean and spacious. It is an apartment rental so it gets cleaned after your stay-not during. We had to ask for dish clothes, dish detergent, clean towels and extra toilet paper--this is a good thing to know. The grounds were beautifully kept and the scenery was incredible. We had planned to take day trips from the farm into neighboring towns, Siena and Florence, but we never made it. We spent the 5 days relaxing on the property, drinking wine and walking into Montalcino (3km away). We shopped at the Coop in town and cooked our meals in our apartment. There is also a restaurant on the property--bring your italian-english dictionary for ordering. We were invited to the Rossi-Cantini farm for dinner and wine-tasting. Wonderful food, great hospitality and incredible wine. It was a great day--a highlight for our trip. The propery's owner's wife speaks very good english which was helpful. Our stay was absolutely lovely. I would readily recommend this property. I wish we could have stayed longer. Next time we will.

We were very pleased with everything at Piombaia! My wife, 2 teenage children and myself were very comfortable during the 5 nights we spent here on our family vacation. The grounds are beautiful! The rooms are simple but comfortable. The bathroom very nice. The small kitchen area in our apartment was great for breakfasts and lunches (small refrigerator, microwave and 2 burner stove as well as dishes, pots and pans, etc were provided). The pool was a delight especially after our touring days. It was also a nice gathering spot to meet the other guests. Getting a tour of the vineyard and winery was a bonus! Giordono, the farmhouse's host, was very friendly and knew enough English to be helpful. We also fell in love with Montalcino! It's only a few minutes away. We would highly recommend these accomodations for the price we paid!

Rooms are large and have the basic necessities for furnishings - nothing extra. Couldn't get the heating to work, but also didn't ask for help, so room was a little cooler than we would have liked. Surroundings are beautiful and went for a nice hike through vineyards that surround the villa.

The place was charming, but cold. Heating units weren't sufficient for December! If you can bundle up and snuggle, it's great.

A wonderful place to stay in beautiful surroundings. The apartment was very spacious and clean. All very relaxing and quite (apart from the nesting swallows above the bedroom window!). Great restaurant and the pool was a nice surprise too. The only regret is that we didn’t book to stay longer than our 3 nights.
