exterior The holiday farmhouse is called “Il Mulino delle Canutole”.

It was originally an oil mill belonging to a 19th century farm on a hill covered with ancient olive trees, between Umbria and Tuscany.

The name “canutola” is local dialect for the aromatic herb called “santolina selvatica” (wild santolina), which still grows thick and wild around the hill.

Its strongly perfumed yellow flowers were once dried in the sun, then placed in small bags and used to perfume bed linen.

The farm house is inside a big private property with olive trees and a really big garden full of perfumed flowers. A big swimming pool (6mt x 12 mt) with a relaxing area is available (open from 15th june to 10th september) for our guests for free.

apartment The holiday farmhouse has been completely restored using its original stone and building materials. There are seven appartments, each named after the original farming activities that took place there. The plain, simple furniture has been chosen with care and good taste, giving each room an air of Franciscan simplicity.

All the apartments have all the conforts for a really pleasant and charming stay. They have also independent entrance, independent heating, kitchen/dining room with living room corner, private bathrooms with shower, tv sat, private outside space.

How to reach Farmhouse Il Mulino delle Canutole

By car
From autostrada A1 Rome- Florence
From the north: Valdichiana exit from the A1, take the Bettolle-Perugia highway following the direction of Perugia, exit at Magione, follow the signs for the Trasimeno Lake and, after few metres,turn right, for Soccorso di Magione.

From the south: Chiusi exit from the motorway,take the highways n.71 and 599 towards Perugia exit at Magione, follow the signs for the Trasimeno Lake and, after few metres,turn right, for Soccorso di Magione.

From E45 motorway Terni- Cesena: Exit Perugia, Bettolle- Perugia highway, Bettolle direction, follow signs on right for Lake Trasimeno and, after few metres, on right, for Soccorso di Magione.

Once you turned towards Soccorso: After about three hundred metres you'll find a church along the street on your right and few metres after you'll find a street on your left with our wood sign. Turn here and go straight on. At about 500mt after you'll find us.
