About Farm House Badia a Coltibuono

exterior Badia a Coltibuono, founded by Benedictine monks at the end of XI century, and its first inhabitants until 1810, is today a charming farmhouse, in the hearth of Chianti Classico, at 650 above sea level.
The large rooms on the ground floor, the fireplace room, the courtyards are at complete guests' disposal.
Guests can walk and relax in the large garden, furnished with relax points, or enjoy the large swimming pool surrounded by greenery. During cold periods, a heated inside little pool is at complete disposal, with its steam bath for 2 persons. The 800 hectares of woods, with trails, allow endless walks in an uncontaminated landscape.

How to reach Farmhouse Badia a Coltibuono

By car
How to reach Badia a Coltibuono from Florence :

• Take the Autostrada A1 direction Southbound towards Roma
• Exit the Autostrada at VALDARNO Exit. Don’t mix it up with INCISA VALDARNO, it is just VALDARNO, 15 km after the Exit of Incisa.
• Turn right following the signs to the town of MONTEVARCHI.
• After 1 km of straight road follow the road to the right following directions for MONTEVARCHI/AREZZO/SIENA. Do not follow indications for Levane / Bucine / Siena which will lead you to the left.
• Continue straight and you will pass over both the Autostrada and the River.
• Follow directions for MONTEVARCHI/AREZZO/SIENA, the road bends to the left.
• Continue straight until you come to a large roundabout.
• Follow signs for CAVRIGLIA/GAIOLE IN CHIANTI/SIENA on State Road N° 408. There is also a brown sign for Badia a Coltibuono.
• This road leads you through a short underpass and bends to the left, continue on this road for approx 7 km until you reach a roundabout with a sculpture and the writing CAVRIGLIA.
• Follow for GAIOLE IN CHIANTI / SIENA
• Continue on the same road for a further 8km until you arrive at a crossroads/intersection. Turn right towards Radda in Chianti on the road SS 429. After 40 metres turn right into the drive of Badia a Coltibuono and follow the road until you reach Badia. 1Km.
• Follow the walls of Badia and turn left at the end of the buildings until you see the large double doors which are the entrance.
• Ring the bell with “UFFICI” and ask for the person you are referring to. You can unload your luggage here and then park your car in the Car Park nearby. Thank you.
• Please note that driving time from Florence to Coltibuono is about 1hour 30mins

How to reach Badia a Coltibuono from Rome :

• Take the Autostrada A1 direction Florence (Northbound);
• Get out of the Autostrada at VALDARNO Exit;
• Same as above.
• Driving time from Rome Airport : 3 hrs.




How to reach Badia a Coltibuono from Siena :

• Take State Road 408 (SS 408) towards Gaiole in Chianti/Montevarchi
• Drive through the village of Gaiole in Chianti and after 5 km you will reach a crossroads/ intersection with Road SS 429. turn left towards Radda in Chianti.
• After 40 metres turn right into the drive of Badia a Coltibuono and follow the road until you reach the Abbey. 1Km
• Follow the walls of the old abbey and turn left at the end of the buildings until you see the large double doors which are the entrance. Ring the bell with “UFFICI”. You can unload your luggage here and then park your car in the Car Park nearby. Thank you.
• Ring the bell with “UFFICI” and ask for the person you are referring to.
• Please note that driving time from Siena to Coltibuono is of about 1hour
