Castello di Tornano Relais Dimora Storica - Gaiole in Chianti

An Enchanting weekend! We enjoyed it so much we didn't want to go home. Our apartment was lovely. Tastefully decorated in a rustic style. The garden and terrace area was spacious and full of lovely flowers. The swimming pool is fantastic, although it was rather cold. Our only disappointment was that when we climbed to the top of the tower, the jacuzzi had gone! To compensate we decided to try the wine-tasting, which was most enjoyable. Serena was very informative and welcoming. Lovely wine and oil. The food in the restaurant was good and accompanied by the delicious Castello di Tornano Chianti Classico. The staff were all friendly and helpful. Wonderful place! Would love to go back!

We are a family of five with three young children under 11 years old. We stayed in an apartment and found it remarkably spacious and well equipped. They offered several options for outside activities that one could book - horseback riding, hot air ballooning, wine tasting and cooking classes. The stay exceeded our expectations and we would definitely stay there again.

We were there for our honeymoon, what a place! Absolutely beautiful and peaceful! There is no public transportation so if you are traveling by train, go to Siena e take a taxi from there, about 50 euros. There is a pool, great food, great wine tasting, beautiful trails to hike, great place to be in touch with nature. We stayed at the appartments, no the tower. It was great! There is a kitchen on the appartments so if you feel like cooking, that is perfect! Staff very helpful and great hosts!

Expensive but well worth the cost. We enjoyed every detail of our stay. We chose the property because of the high customer service rating and we were pleased. Great place to stay. (The areas I rated lower on the survey were because there was no NA option available.)

It is great! Magnificient place among Chianti hills with very friendly and kind-hearted staff. Peaceful and misterious atmosphere with fireplace and nice wine.

My wife and our 3 children (ages 17, 14 and 11) just returned from our trip to Italy, and our absolute highlight was our 2 night stay at the Castello Di Tornano. From the moment we arrived we fell in love with the beauty of this countryside location in the Chianti region. Despite some of the reviews we read,the entire staff could not have been nicer and more accomodating. We loved our apartment ( Sambucca) which was a charming 2 bedroom villa with a balcony overlooking the hills. It was clean and spacious and had everything we needed. The price for the apartment was excellent given its spaciousness. We had full access to the entire property including the Castle and the location was great for our day trip to Sienna. We had dinner prepared at the Castle one evening and had an absolutely wonderful meal. Everything was fresh, well presented and delicious. We found the price for the meal to be reasonable and greatly enjoyed their 03 Chianti Classico. They even treated us to a glass of thier dessert wine (vin santo) which was fabulous. We had the breakfast one morning which was not included in the price and it was a fresh, well presented, typical european continental breakfast. They were even kind enough to only charge us for 3 people even though we were 5. Despite some other comments we read, we did not find the price for the breakfast out of line. I studied every review I could find online before booking and was concerned with some of the negative comments I read. I can honestly say that we did not find one negative and highly recommend this Castle as a must on any trip to Tuscany.

Highly suggested to stay here. Beautiful place with on site winery. The dinners were nice, and one night the chef was sick so they arranged dinner at a local restaurant which was incredible. Hard to beat this place.

We stayed in one of the apartments, not the main castle. It was spacious, clean, quiet; lovely. The dinner was excellent and the service by Massimo was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The scenery and the district is breathtaking. It's nice and close to many wonderful towns: Siena, Radda, San Giminiano. This hotel was one of the highlights of our visit to Italy.

Wonderful visit with great dinner, good wine, and sound sleep. Only problem was that we couldn't stay longer than our one day.
