Vacation Rental La Spiga d'Oro - Foiano della Chiana

We arrived at around 1800 local and were greeted by Gianlucca and his Mom Mirella the warmest of welcomes, we were already at ease!! The rooms are spacious and cool and the facilities absolutely excllant. The Welcome pack of food is great and is a great help if you are too tired to go out on your first night!! the Olive Oil and wine are also of top quality!! My wife and I used La Spiga d'Oro as our base and travelled around, its easy to get around Tuscany from here. The pool is so so cold be warned if you want to cool down quick jump in!! You have been warned!! On our departure we were treated like family leaving and we were sad to go but we are determined to return!! Ciao Andy and Sue Powell

We stayed in a lovely apartment with one queen bed and in the living room, the sofa would have acommodated a third person. The kitchen appliances seemed new and worked well. We were greeted warmly and given some fresh farm eggs, a bottle of the farm's wine and a can of their olive oil. A bowl of crackers, croissants, jellies, honey, & Nutella as well as a bowl of candy was on the counter for our enjoyment. The bathroom was modern and functioned well. The decor was old world country charm and lived up to our expectations. The interaction with Giancarlo, the owner, was superb. He helped to get us ready for country bicycle ride using his well-cared for bikes; he drew maps; he and his mother were always attentive to our needs. On our last day, we were fortunate to be invited to participate in the harvesting of the wine grapes. It was a great experience. It was hard to say goodbye and we hope to be able to return in the near future. This is the 'real deal' if you are looking for a true taste of Tuscany!

We were very pleased to have found the facility in Trip Advisor. The owners are very sincere and hospitable. We only did not get a restful vacation but also gained friends. We would stay again at La Spiga d'Oro if we have another chance.

Our impressions were excellent. Cleanliness of the premises was superb. The hospitality of the owner and his mother were outstanding, with special stress to the mother who tries to animate the quests, specially Italian speaking. Their wine and oil are both of excellent quality. The four of us truly enjoyed the stay and wished it could have been longer. So, we will try to come back and fully recommend La Spiga d'Oro to other prospective visitors. We already did to our friends.

We were welcomed by the older woman who greeted us with fresh farm aggs and walnuts. Despite zero English she managed to show us everything. We were surprised to find the kitchen fully stocked with food and even a bottle of their own wine. Sad to leave!

Our hosts made us feel very welcome. We were surprised to find many supplies including fresh eggs from the farm's hens. Giancarlo provided us with any type of information we needed to make our visit to the area easier. We were also invited to assist in testing the grapes used for wine making and received explanations about the various workings of the farm. What a pleasant and relaxing atmosphere!

The hospitality here must be the best in ITALY. The facilities here could not be bettered in a 5* hotel & Mama is the icing on the cake. Her welcome & attendance to detail is excellent, every other day she would deliver Figs or grapes or eggs or tomatoes.All this on top of the starter pack supplied which is unblieveable in quality & content. This accommodation has everything required all types & sizes of groups.
