Dating back to 1586, the complex was constructed in accord with the Val di Chiana tradition, evident from the particular layout of the structures which make up the complex. Built around a farmyard, the heart of the past domestic life, the central building still contains the characteristic arcade, tobacconist, granary and pigsty.

Situated few kilometres from Monte S. Savino, the Casale Il Caggio is within easy reach of the major Tuscan cities such as Siena, Florence and Arezzo.

The complex offers an ample entertainment area including a wood burning fireplace, barbecue and a 16x5 meters swimming pool. A fully equipped gym is at guests' disposal and the old pigsty has been specially converted into a hydromassage bathtub made up of local sandstone, those water is heated to the perfect temperature to enjoy relaxing moments among the colours and the quiet of the Tuscan countryside.

apartment - double room The Casale Il Caggio has been completely refurbished, taking care to its ancient characteristics which make a Tuscan home unique, such as the enormous fireplace, the wooden beams and the hand laid stone brickwork. Finally, two airy double rooms with on-suite bathrooms are also on offer with the option of breakfast.

The farmhome offers three types of apartment: situated on the ground floor of the central building is a small apartment of 45m2 (2+2 persons) featuring lounge, cooking area, bathroom and double bedroom.
The tobacconist has been converted into two double storey apartments, one of 65m2 in size (2+2 persons) with spacious lounge area, open plan kitchen, ample double bedroom and bathroom. The larger suite of 75m2 in size (4+2 persons) includes two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a day room with fireplace.

All apartments are equipped with satellite TV, heating, hairdryer on request, bed linen and towels, cots on request. Pets and dogs are welcome upon request and previous notice.

How to reach Farmhouse Casale Il Caggio

By car
From A1 highway exit at Monte San Savino, turn left towards the village and continue following this main road for about 3 km. At the first traffic light, proceed until you see the indications to Ciggiano. Turn right and proceed for 500 meters until you reach a dilapidated farmhouse on the left, enter the road nearby and proceed for 400 meters until the crossroads. Enter the dirt road on the left and proceed for about 800 meters. On the right you will see the private road to Casale Il Caggio.
