farmhome - exterior Farm House Castello di Selvole farmhome - exterior Only a few km from Siena and conveniently located to Tuscany’s renowned Chianti Region, Castello di Selvose is a beautiful hilltop holiday 'village' situated just 200 metres from the Selvole Winery, Cellar and Reception.

Providing a relaxing getaway and an ideal base for exploring the gorgeous Tuscan countryside, three characteristic farmhouses have been converted into 21 self-catering apartments designed to accommodate singles, couples or families with children.

On-site, guests will enjoy friendly service and a wide range of amenities and activities, including wine tastings and winery tours. During high season, reception staff will also be happy to arrange special afternoon picnics and dinners in the wine cellar or courtyard.

Castello di Selvole also operates a restaurant in nearby Pievasciata (2km away), where the historic Templars were based during the 1200s. Here guests will enjoy traditional Tuscan cuisine accompanied by a complete selection of wines.

Farm House Castello di Selvole guest room twin bed room The 21 apartments on offer were once inhabited by the farmers who worked at Selvole.

Divided into three groups and identified by the names of local flowers (Geranio, Margherita, Ginestra), all apartments are appointed with private kitchen facilities. Guests are advised to bring their own food in case they don’t plan to dine out.

Bed linen and bath towels are provided upon arrival and changed regularly for stays longer than one week.

Iniiziamo col dire che il posto è incantevole, ma difficile da raggiungere: mappa poco chiara e lungo tratto di strada sterrata e polverosa che rende l'auto molto sporca. L'appartamento è grazioso ma molti degli infissi delle finestre sono in cattive condizioni e non permettono una adeguata chiusura delle stesse: difatti all'interno abbiamo trovato molti animaletti come millepiedi, vespe, coleotteri, ragni ed altro; la stessa porta d'ingresso era difficile da aprire e chiudere. Ottima la presenza della piscina, ben curata e pulita; le docce annesse emettevano, però, solo acqua molto fredda. La disponibilità del personale è eccellente e il ristorante di proprieta, sito a pochi chilometri cucina in maniera ottima e offre uno sconto e una attenzione particolare ai clienti dell'agriturismo.

This is a beautiful, quiet agriturismo. The girl working at the reception doesn't seem too interested in being very warm and welcoming, but she helps with everything you ask (you just have to come up with the questions on your own). It is a bit tricky to find, but they are good at making sure you have the right driving instructions. I highly recommend this place! Strange that they haven't put out better pictures, they have a nice, big swimming pool, a ping pong table under roof etc...

As a family of two adults and three children(age 5,6 and 10) we enjoyed 4 wonderful days at Castello de Selvole. A beautiful and spectaculare place in Toscana.It is close to Siena, and has the facility and hospitality for a family of five. We highly recommend the wine that they produce on the Castello, and their restaurant is excellent. We will return!!!

The reception in the main building was most of the time unatendend. Restaurant as promised on the web site is not on the premisis but is a 3km walk over a dark gravel road and closed on Monday. The owners are absolute not interested. In the vilage are no shops so it not possible to get some food. I traveled by bicycle so it was not possible to carry all the food with me. An other family travelled by train and they had no food too. I arrived on Saturday with the plannig to visit Siena on Sunday but the hostel shuttle bus is not running on Sundays and a taxi cost 23 euro one way.The shuttle bus is running only 2 times a day.Further there is no public phone and there is no reception for mobile phones. Wine tours? nobody is talking about that.The owners has still a lot to learn about Hospitality and I know were I'm talking about because I am a hostel owner myself.

By car
From the north
Take the A1 Motorway to Firenze Certosa, then take the Firenze Siena Freeway to Siena Nord. Take the SS2 towards Vagliagli for approximately 8 km. Go right at the junction for Pievasciata and follow the dirt road toward Pievasciata for approximately 4 km. Go left at the junction for Selvole.
From the south
Take the A1 Motorway to Valdichiana, then take the Siena Bettolle Freeway to Siena Nord. From Siena Nord, follow the SS2 toward Vagliagli for approximately 8 km. Go right at the junction for Pievasciata and follow the dirt road toward Pievasciata for approximately 4 km. Go left at the junction for Selvole.

By train
Siena Train Station is located around 12 km away. Transfers can be arranged upon advanced request for arrivals/departures between Monday and Saturday (exclusing public holidays).

By airplane
The property lies around 70 km from Florence Airport and 120 km from Pisa Airport.
