A Garden of Eden in the midst of Tuscany. My husband and I cant find a superlative that adequately describes this gem. Candlelit dinners on the terrace overlooking their expansive olive grove or light lunch by the pool surrounded by a tranquil stream and their beautiful gardens. The farm is touted as a Band B but dinner at Podere Cogno was a gourmet delight. All dishes were made with ingredients fresh off the farm made by Giovana and her daughters. Thank God we walked alot and did some laps in the pool, as the parade of courses seemed non stop. As a family run business, the hospitality was that of a top notch 5 star resort but warmer and more relaxing. The rooms in this 200 year old farm were a beautiful blend of old world charm and comfort along with modern amenities. The bathrooms were completed updated with soaking tubs, multi-head showers and towel warmers but still retained that Tuscan feel. My husband and I are almost scared to provide such a high rating for fear the place will become so popular that we will never be able to get another reservation. We would go back in a heartbeat.

How to reach Farmhouse Podere Cogno

By car
The structure is easily reachable by the motorway A1, exit Firenze Certosa. Take the superstrada Firenze Siena, exit San Donato. Turn left for Castellina. Once in Castellina, follow the indications for Siena. After 3 km, there are the signs for Caggiolo. Take the dirt road for Caggiolo and then for Cogno.

By train
The structure is 17 km from the Siena railway station.

By airplane
The structure is 60 km from the Florence airport.
