Agriturismo Terrammare - Anacapri

The property owner and hostess, Milena, is what makes this place special. She has such a huge heart and tries to make everyone feel welcome. She will definitely make sure you are WELL fed! You should plan to eat dinner there at least one night, just to experience her excellent cooking. She is also very knowledgeable about the island, having been born and raised there, and can give you all the intel you need to get out and really experience all the island has to offer. Our stay was wonderful and I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for something outside of the "normal hotel experience". I certainly have not been anywhere else that provides the same degree of hospitality. That being said, there are a few things to point out. First, the hotel is up on top of the town of Anacapri, which is itself above the town of Capri. Since you arrive by boat in Marina Grande in the town of Capri, this means you will need some form of motorized transportation to get to the hotel. You could hire a taxi, but they can only take you part of the way, to the center of Anacapri. The remaining road to the hotel is too small for a full-size taxicab to fit. Luckily, Milena owns a small autobus that fits just fine. I recommend calling her when you arrive in Marina Grande and asking her to send her driver to pick you up. While it's not required, make sure to tip the driver as he just saved you at least 25-30 Euros by not having to pay for a taxi. A second point to keep in mind is that this is a farm stay, so you can (and should) expect some of the sights, sounds, and smells of a traditional farm. But that's what you came for, right? - something outside the normal hotel stay. It's definitely not anything that should keep you from staying as it results in a very memorable experience (in a good way). Finally - if you have a large suitcase you will have to carry it at least a short part of the way to your room.
