Situated in the historic municipality of Alenquer in the west region- land of vineyards and sea-, only 30 Km from Lisbon and characterised by a rustic architectural style deriving from the farming activities pioneered here in the past – most notably the growing of wines.
The farm is able to offer you the pleasure of comfortable accommodation, the tranquil surrounding countryside and a relaxed family atmosphere where you will have the chance to experience tasty home-cooked meals.
The farm features 6 double rooms (each with en-suite bathroom, telephone, heating and satellite TV), a lounge with open fireplace, a piano and bar and a games room.
A number of activities are on hand; such as hiking, trips to the near-by Alenquer, a visit to Montejunto mountain and outings around the local municipality to see historical momuments, to know windmills route, to taste some of best wines of the country in the Wine and Vineyards route. There are places worthy of a visit like the Óbidos Village, Mafra, Caldas da Rainha, Sintra and of course Lisbon.
Golf players have an excellent oportunity to practise it in the West, like Golden Eagle at Rio Maior.
You can also appreciate the Tejo river, go to the several beaches –Peniche, Baleal, Consolação, Santa Cruz- along the west coast or to the Berlengas Islands – a Natural Maritime Reserve of rare beauty.
Another good suggestion for stimulating holidays is equestrian tourism, also available in the region.

How to reach Farmhouse Quinta do Covanco

By car
Quinta do Covanco is located at the entrance to Alenquer, only 3 minutes from the A1 motorway and 20 minutes from Lisbon.

Coming from Lisbon or Porto along the A1, you must take the Alenquer/Carregado exit.
After the toll, carry straight on toward Alenquer, across the IC2.
At the first roundabout, near Alenquer, take the first exit to the right, then left and right once again.
Quinta do Covanco is the first property on the left (there are two centenary plane trees at the entrance).


By airplane
Leave the Lisbon airport and then take a car, bus or train to Alenquer.

By public transportation
From Lisbon, take any bus that goes to Alenquer.
When reaching Alenquer, there is a big round with a fountain, after this there is a bus stop near a gas station.
Leave there and walk about 50 meters to Quinta do Covanco.
