The room was spacious and lovely, the entire hotel spotlessly clean and beautifully appointed. My only wish would be that the restaurants offered more of a variety of lighter meals, as in main course salads or smaller pasta dishes, that someone dining alone could order.

I visited this hotel in 2001 (it was called Grand Hotel Monte Carlo).I think that time the relationship between price/quality and quality of service were better.

Partly lying on stilts, 15 meters above the sea level, Hotel Fairmont makes your beach vacation a most comfortable experience. The single and double rooms are 30 m² in size and feature large terraces overlooking the sea. Deluxe rooms are also available.Room amenities include electronic safe, individually controlled air-conditioning, private terrace with deck chair, 2 direct dial telephones and Interactive television with Internet system integrated (movies on request).
They feature a marble bathroom with bathtub and shower, separate water closet and bidet, telephone and hairdryer.
The following amenities are available upon request (all requests must be made prior to guest arrival at the hotel): DVD players (extra charge), CD Players (extra charge), connecting rooms, baby cots, cribs and fax machine (extra charge).

By carFrom Nice-Côte d'Azur Airport and the north of France:
Take the A8 highway towards Monaco - Vintimille, then take exit no. 56 Roquebrune - Monaco. Head through a long tunnel in the direction of Cap d'Ail, then to Monaco. Follow the signs for the harbour/port of Monaco. Head through the famous tunnel of Formula 1 Grand Prix along the waterfront, then follow the signs for the Casino Square. Driving up towards the square, you will find on your left hand side the Fairmont Monte Carlo at 12, Avenue des Spélugues.
From Italy:
Travelling on the A10 hihgway Genova - Ventimiglia merge onto the A8 highway following the direction Monaco - Nice. Take exit no. 58 Roquebrune - Monaco , drive down following the signs for the Principality through Beausoleil (a little town bordering Monaco). Follow the signs for the Casino square. Driving down towards the sea, the Fairmont Monte Carlo is on your right hand side at 12, Avenue des Spélugues.
