The room was tiny, we paid for a triple and the three beds filled the room completely. The shower very powerful has a small drain and it keeps flooding the bathroom. Location very close the train station. Area pretty poor. Overall not terrible but the worst hotel I've ever been.

We loved the location, very near to everthing especialy the train station. unforunatly the place next door was under contruction and awoke us several mornings,we realize it was not the fault of the hotel but our room was right up next to it. we would certainly go back and recommend it to our friends.the towels and linens were 1st class and the breakfast was the best and so was the view from the roof top. we wish the rooftop would be open at night so we could bring our wine and enjoy the view. we do not speak italian so tv was out of the question in the evenings. ciao and see you soon again.

This is a pretty good hotel that I would definitely recommend to the friends and stay again at. Rooms are pretty small, and if you have a room overlooking the street (we had two, one to the street, one to the backyard) it can get a bit noisy, but two things are a hit. First, the breakfast restaurant has a fantastic view to the Basilica of Santa Maria Degli Agnelli and Roman roofs. Second, the staff is very good, especially the guy called Andrew.

We stayed at the Eurostars Hotel Domus Aurea for the first two nights of our very first vacation in Rome. I must preface this review with the fact that when we planned the vacation, we were doing it on a budget. I was bound and determined to get every room for 100 Euro or less without staying in a dump. We loved this hotel. We found it very cozy. Yes the room and bathroom was extremely small, but it was cute, nicely decorated, and convenient to Termini station. Some people might find being so close to the station "sketchy" - however, we were not right across the street. It was about a 5-10 minute walk, which was wonderful if you don't want to pay a cab. It was also far enough away from Termini that we did not feel uncomfortable. Certainly the area right around Termini is dirty and the street urchins are all around, but this hotel is not directly across the street. The best part of the hotel was that we could walk right over to Termini and get on the Metro, bus or train and go to all of our destinations. It was the best decision I made to be somewhat near the train station, because it is one less thing you have to worry about on vacation when you're in a strange country trying to figure out how to get from here to there without breaking the bank. The hotel had a beautful terrace that served breakfast in the a.m. It was a wonderful place to go in the morning. I was expecting very little after reading many reviews about continental breakfasts in Italy, but was pleasantly surprised. There was juice, tea, coffee, all sorts of pastries, ham, breads, cereal, milk, fruit. There was even a gentleman who kept up the area, clearing tables, resetting tables, maintaining the food. The rooftop terrace/balcony is certainly a nice aspect of the hotel. In the room we were on the corner, right next to the neon sign. Didn't bother us a bit. The windows had shutters and we could close them if we needed to which cut down on noise in the a.m. However, in May the weat

The room was nice but bathroom was terrible, shower doors do not close so it leaked all over every time we showered. Breakfast was magnificant! A real spread of top quality stuff including cold meats, cheeses, torts, croissants, fresh fruit etc, and the rooftop location on which it was served afforded a really nice view as well. However, we were leaving early so asked for early b/fast which we were told was no problem. On the actual day they only opened the room 10 mins before we left so we had to gobble and run. Other than that no complaints.

When reserving the Domus - this was my fourth stay - ask for rooms on the EAST or North sides of the building, especially in the summer-gets VERY hot on the upper two floors of the hotel, even with A/C. This property offers a good value for the dollar and is in an easily accessible location for the train station, bus terminal, etc for days excursions in Rome.

I love the top floor of this hotel where people have breakfast, delicious food and excellent surrounding. Imagine to have your breakfast while enjoying the first sunshine of Rome! However when I decided to stay 2 more nights there, the price was getting much higher for the christmas season. Anyway, Domus Aurea is a nice choice.

Located within walking distance of termini station which is very convenient for arrival and departure from the city and for accessing the metro. Rome is a walking city and we walked to most places anyhow. The breakfast room is beautiful with white leather chairs and a generous breakfast buffet of meats and cheeses, boiled eggs, and a wide variety of pastries and cereals. Also has a beautiful view being locate don the 6th floor. We stayed for 75 euro per night and it was great value for the area and updated rooms. I've stayed near termini before and the rooom were not nearly as nice and clean and modern as this hotel. nothing fancy but a great bargain for the price.

I had a big problem the first night, the hotel was overbooked and the management send me to another hotel nearby the one I had booked. It was quite annoying because I had only planned two nights in Rome and I had to lose a lot of time checking in & out between the two hotels. The manager was a nice person but this did not solve my problem. Anyway if YOU DO NOT RUN INTO AN OVERBOOKING the hotel is nice and worthwhile the rate you can get. Also very nice the breakfast area set at 6th floor with terrace and nice view over Rome.

The rooms were what one would expect in Rome - extremely small. The showers leaked because there was a gap between the base of the shower and the glass door so we had to lay about 4-5 towels on the ground to not step in the water. Being close to the Termini station, the surrounding wasn't that great. My husband and I did not feel particularly safe walking back at night and there weren't really any great restaurants around.

We stayed at this hotel for 3 days. The rooms are a bit small, but we had a double bed plus our baby's cot and they fitted quite well. Rooms are very clean as well as the bathroom. Beds very comftable. The breakfast is AMAZING, buffet with a quite good variety of breads, cheese and fruit served in the last floor, with a nice view. The hotel sorroundings are OK, nothing to worry about. It is literally 5 min walking to Termini station and there is a supermarket 5 min walking as well. There are nice restaurants in the area and much cheaper than in other neighbourhods, more touristic ones. The only problem is the quiteness of the room: we could hear what was happening in the street behind us and in the next doors room as well. Even though that, bring some ear plugs and then, I strongly recommend this hotel!!! Will definitely come back if we are going again to Rome.

We were very pleased with this hotel. It was a gem, and I would recommend it to anyone. Newly remodeled, clean, quiet, airconditioning that worked! Staff were very helpful. They even packed us a breakfast to go when they heard we were trying to catch an early (5:30 am) train. Close to train station. We walked with two suitcases/bags each and carry ons. Not difficult at all. Excellent find!

This was our second hotel in Rome as we completed our vacation and we were disappointed. Front desk staff were ambivalent to our arrival and departure. The bed was well used and too soft and needed to be replaced. The room was small and cramped and the smallest of four hotels that we used in Italy. It did have a nice bathroom however. Breakfast was a little disappointing compared to other locations. Overall, we got this hotel for its proximity to the Rail Terminal but we disappointed with its costs vs value. We stayed at another hotel 5 blocks away for 7 nights at 39 euros less per night and were much happier. Thank goodness we were only in this hotel for one night.

Our room was about the size and quality which we expected for the price and area.It was similar to other hotels we had stayed at in London and Rome previously. However the second room ( 206 I think ) which was occupied by our friends with whom we were travelling was disgusting and should never be used as a double room. There was only about 45cm of room between the bed and the wall all around the bed.A wardrobe had been jammed into one bottom corner of the bed and a refrigerator in the other corner and neither could we opened fully.Only one door of the wardrobe could be opened at all.Because of these it was not possible to walk around the bed,it had to be climbed over to get to the other side. Not very satisfactory, particularly when at night it was necessary for the person sleeping on the window side of the bed needed to use the bathroom.

Our reservation was for a seven-night stay. After arriving the first night (after an eight-hour drive by car from Florence) we were put in a room with barely enough room for our luggage. After approaching the desk clerk, we were told that was all that was available due to some "emergency" and that we would definitely be moved after breakfast the next morning and not to unpack our bags. Upon returning to the hotel from siteseeing the next evening we were assigned to another room which was very spacious and our luggage had been moved to the room for us. I must say that aside from the first night the remainder of our stay was very enjoyable. The staff was courteous and helpful and the included breakfast was very good--more than what we expected. Another good point about the hotel is the location--close to the bus terminal. Would definitely stay at this hotel again.

The room at the Eurostar Domus Aurea was small and simple although clean. It's a bit overpriced. Yes, it's in a good location I guess if you are in Rome for business but the room is not very comfortable for a person who expects a little bit of comfort after a long day of business. The hotel staff appeared disorganized upon my arrival. They should have expected me but could not find my reservation. The real problem with this hotel is the concierge. Not good at all. I asked the evening desk person to call for a cab and he resisted to the point where I said to forget it. That's not a good indication of a good concierge. This is very important in a hotel so; consequently, I give this hotel a below average rating.

The hotel was a stones throw from the train station and centrally located. I was able to walk around the neighboorhood and feel safe at all hours of the night. The staff was knowledgable of the area and willing to help in any way they could. Would definitely stay here again, even though the room was quite small.

As in most major cities, hotels are generally, overpriced, too small, very loud, and a terrible value. Not so with the Domus Aurea. The only one of these that the Domus Aurea suffers from is small rooms. The staff have installed amazing super-insulated windows that block out street noise, and while small the rooms are impeccably decorated to make them seem larger. I would rate the Domus Aurea an excellent value. The hotel also provides a very good European style breakfast every morning (free of charge), which includes some cereals and pastries as a concession to the American travelers. The best part of this hotel is the location. It is literally a 3 minute walk to Termini station, the heart of Rome's transportation network. I read several guidebooks which called this neighborhood unsavory and unsafe. This is not true. We felt very safe while here. Granted, this isn't the best neighborhood to look at, but it's not detestable. The only real negatives here are that the website advertises dedicated ISDN lines to the rooms, which is untrue. The staff didn't know what I was talking about when I inquired. Also, the beds are VERY hard. More like sleeping on a box-spring instead of a mattress. I would highly recommend this hotel to any vacationers staying 5 nights or less (any more and you might need a chiropractor when you get home!)

It was really convenient to tour Rome, since the hotel was close to Termini station. I could walk from Termini to hotel late at night and it wasn’t dangerous. Reception was experienced and kind. And room was clean, however it was little bit small for three people. In the website, breakfast is served on the terrace (picture in the website). However, breakfast was served next to lobby which was not enough spacious for all the guests. The menu was acceptable as a three star hotel. However, breakfast on Sunday was terrible. Coffee was cold (maybe yesterday’s coffee!) and bread was stale. So I asked a waiter for hot coffee, and he added hot coffee in the coffee pot which had cold coffee. As a result coffee was not hot enough (tepid, lukewarm).

The room was a bit small and although we overlooked the Via Volturno the noise level was as bad as we expected it would be. The staff were very friendly and most helpful with organizing tours and giving directions. The breakfast was great up on the roof garden, however, it was quite windy and a little chilly. Must be great in the summer! We would definitely recommend this hotel and would use it again ourselves.

It was my 60th birthday and my son's 40th birthday treat and we were give a 'licence' by our wives to visit Rome to watch Italy v England play rugby and enjoy a father/son weekend away!! We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend and it was made even better by the our stay at Domus Aurea. The hotel was recommended by my daughter-in-law, my son's wife who stayed in the hotel a few years ago, for a few months, when she was a student still living at home in Cyprus. Her name was then Eleonora Takis. Its location and quality of service met, and even exceeded her recommendation. The manager and all the staff are to be complimented.

The room was clean small but cosy and there was no noise because it was facing an inner yard.Breakfast was simple but OK.It is only a 5 minute walk to the station and there you can catch all busses and trains wherever you like to go.We will come again!!

I stayed in this hotel in October 2003 with a group of friends and we enjoyed our stay, hence the reason we specifically booked it again for our return visit. The location is very central for the Termini Station where you can pick up the metro and buses for getting around the city. The hotel rooms are rather small, but spotlessly clean as are the shower/toilet facilities. I would certainly book this hotel again for future visits.

This hotel is located in a noisy area of the city although we suspected this before arrival as we were wanting accommodation close to the railway station. Our stay was broken into two parts, the room allocated to us for our first night was extremely small not really suitable for two people I had trouble getting out of the bed it was so close to the wall. The room allocated for the next two nights stay was quite large and comforatble much more suitable for two people. The hotel were very accommodating allowing us free use of their luggage storage room. The staff were pleasant and helpful.
