Eurostars Montgomery Hotel - Brussels

Just stayed over a week end, connection to grand place through metro is excellent

The location, which was not clear from the website, turned out to be better than I thought it would be -- right at a Metro station to make it easy to get into central Brussels and also easy to get to the airport for departure the next morning. The venere.com website I found a nuisance to use, and I particularly found it annoying that I could not change my reservation through the hotel once I had made it. Internet access at that point was difficult, and it took a number of phone calls to make sure that the one night we intended to stay was in fact the night we needed.

The Hotel Eurostars Montgomery have a website on which there is an email address for enquiries. I wrote twice to that email address with my enquiry regarding car parking but received no reply. When I asked the hotel why they had not replied, I was informed that that email address is no longer valid. For a hotel of this (5 Star) standard, it is unacceptable and needs to be fixed without delay.

My main problem with this hotel was the difference in price as quoted on this site and what I was charged. It is a very nice hotel, with good ammenities (including on-site parking), but I found the decor a little run down for the price. For the same price, we could have stayed right near the Grand-Palace. This hotel is much better suited for business travelers than tourists. Staff was very friendly and accommodating, and hotel is at the foot of a Metro and tram stop -- but just not right for our needs.

Las habitaciones son muy amplias, al igual que el baño, esta muy limpio, el personal del hotel es muy amable y nos atendieron de maravilla hasta nos auxiliaron con informacion de trenes... El desyuno no va incluido en la tarifa esta a unos pasos de la estacion del metro. Definitivamente yo regreso a este hotel

1. I have been in the hotel a few times before, and compared to earlier, this time the room was not as clean as usually. It gave an impression of someone having cleaned it in a hurry and not quite properly. 2. When paying with a credit card, the hotel required the PIN code of the card - for the first time; this has never been the case in any hotel in Brussels. Since the PIN is not used in many other countries, like in Finland, I did not have it with me, and it caused some trouble to find it out; only by coincidence I could reach my husband by phone and he managed to find out the PIN. - This new policy of the hotel will cause problems to many who don't expect that the code is required, because, as mentioned before, it is still fairly seldom used in Europe.
