Hotel Reviews Gaudí (Eurostars)
Single traveller
France, Sep 2009
Since the hotel is quite close to the Sagrada Familia, it's not a bad location, but this area of Barcelona doesn't have much else to recommend it and the hotel itself is located at a busy intersection. My room was quite noisy and was also very small. At the hotel bar no one knew how to work the coffee machine. Not a bad experience exactly but it's hard to see how the hotel warrants its four stars or its rates.

The staff were very helpful and knowledgeable. The room rather small, but attractive. It did have the requested queen-sized bed. The view from the window was great. The next morning, however, when we went to shower, we found that we had no shower door. They were replacing them and took them off before they had the new ones to install. When we complained, they said there was no other room available and provided us with extra towels to catch the spatter. Bizarre.

it was a good stay for 1 week in BCN and this hotel is very good. Although it is out of the city center, it is just beside the "monumental" metro station and at 2 min by foot from the sagrada familia temple.

This is the 2nd time I've been to Barcelona. I knew where was nice to stay etc and decided to go with this hotel. The ratings were fantastic and the hotel looked great. On my original email I asked for a possible balcony or terrace room. Upon our arrival we were told we had a terrace room and we were very pleased. We were further taken aback by the fantastic views that we had from our 8th floor room. A mere 300 degrees view of the city with the Sagrada Familia slap bang in the middle in all it's awe inspiring glory. The views were excellent. Not only that the actual terrace we had was big. Long enough to lounge in the sun on the loungers for a while and take in all the sun we wanted. The terrace was by far the highlight of the holiday. We enjoyed a glass of wine in the evening and took in the city at night with the Sagrada looking over our shoulders! The room itself was fantastic too. The bed was huge and comfortable the curtains were heavy so there was no light creeping in in the early hours waking us. The bathroom was great too. All in all the stay was one of the best I have ever encountered. I am a frequent traveller and I must say this stay will be hard to beat in regards to the hotel. Thanks to the Eurostars Gaudi staff for fulfilling our wish in granting us a terrace. It made our holiday. If we visit BCN again we are certain to stay there. You can be sure of it. A fantastic hotel. 10 out 10 in our eyes certainly. I shall be recommending Eurostars Hotels and Venere.com to all my friends and family. Job well done. You can be proud in the knowledge that this review is a reflection of your service. I just wish other companies were as pro-customer as you are. Thanks again. The Eurostars Gaudi was beautiful. The rooms and bathrooms were spacious even for American standards. We had trouble with the a/c and the front desk came right up and checked on the thermosat. When they couldn't get it to work, they immediately upgraded our room, no charge. The only negative was no Bell Hop, which is pretty standard in Europe. I would definitely stay at and recommend the Eurostars Gaudi.

Me and my girlfriend stayed at the Gaudì for 5 nights in March before Easter. The hotel is situated in a good spot, around the corner there is a metro station, about 10 min by foot there is the Sagrada Familia and one day we went by foot in Plaza Catalunya in just 50 min it was a nice walk!Anyway, the area is good connected to the center, and the hotel is exactly the same as shown in the pics. Just the lady who was in charge of the housekeeping, was too much zealous for me, she was knoking at my door every morning at 10.00, saying: "senior, servicio!" translated means: whatta fxxk you're doing at 10 in the morning still in bad? I gotta go home!" Anyway it was funny! and we had great time, I will recommend it!

The rooms in this hotel are very small, although by European standards they are most likely similar. I had horrible problems with the plumbing in this hotel and had to stay in THREE different rooms in the 4 days I was there. The first room, the sink didn't drain. The second room, the shower didn't drain probably and ALL the water flooded the bathroom area and the room itself. I had to leave my room for hours while they mopped up the floors and attempted to fix the problem. It wasn't fixed properly and the problem remained and so had to move to yet another room. Also, you can hear EVERYTHING in this place. If you are in the hallways you can hear everything that is going on in the other rooms. It's as if there are no walls it's so bad. They finally put us in a suite on the last two nights, but it didn't make up for all the plumbing problems and wet clothes and luggage.

Frankly impressed. Highly recommended and rated as 10 because the hotel is much better than described on the site. The rooms are very neat and stylish. We have asked for a terrace view on the top floor overlooking Sagrada Familia and got it with no questions asked. The terrace was quite impressive and on top of having a direct view of Gaudi's masterpiece you also see the electric-blue Hesperia Tower to the right. The terrace itself is very spacious, has two chaise-lounges and a small table and is nicely decorated with thick bamboo stems. Public transportation is at hand - metro is 150m from the hotel's entrance. The immediate area around the hotel is not very impressive, but so is any block in non-central Barcelona. The mini bar prices are more than reasonable - positively surprised... Some very minor things we missed (we have to mention something which can be improved, right?): - some decent music TV channels, although if you fully enjoy the night life in the city, this does not matter...) - water pressure in the shower is very sparing. So if you have a special liking for the jacuzzi effect, be patient... - it took some effort and walking around the block to locate the hotel building for the first time once we were our of the underground... If you are facing Sagrada Familia from the metro exit, the hotel is on the left side of the street, not on the right as the map suggests. - nothing more, really, it was close to perfect.

Price is not relatively cheap but is okay, guess that's standard in Barcelona. Location-wise is abit disappointed. While it is next to subway station, downtown or city centre is not within walking distance. Very limited choice of restaurants and bars around as well.

The rooms at Eurostars Gaudi are very comfortable and attractive, and the hotel is very near the Sagrada Familia, a major tourist site, but somewhat distant from the other major tourist sites in Barcelona.

perfect stay. Our room (7th floor) was very clean and quiet, with a beautifull view on barcelona and the sagrada familia. 10 minutes by foot to the old barcelona, or two metro station. 15 minutes to the sea. Jut a little problem : during our four days stay, the ultra modern bathroom was alas short on water pressure, and it was real long to file up the bath or take a shower... It seems the lasts floors are not well deserved in terme of hot water... Except for this, all was perfect for a very nice price : less than 70 euros/night.

Hotel is new and has no sign so if you arrive at night it is hard to find. Taxis look for signs more than address. Excellent location a few steps from metro station

Hotel molto molto carino, praticamente nuovo. Il soggiorno è stato delizioso. Ottima stanza e pulizia e fantastica vista dalla finestra. Peccato non ci siano terrazzi...Ci tornerò sicuramente!

I was pleasantly surprised with this hotel. We needed a hotel quickly for one more night after 3 nights at the Del Mar Hotel, which couldn't accomodate us for one more night at any of their properties! The Gaudi was in a pretty good location, near the Sagrada Familia. However, there were a limited number of restaraunts in the area to choose from and they were pricey. I would however stay here again, because the employees were so friendly and helpful and the rooms were very nice, modern and clean! It was also within one block of a metro stop, very convenient.

It was one of the best experiences I've had, the only thing I would add, is to put CNN or BBC on the satellite TV.

This hotel is wonderful, not only in location, you can see the Sagrada from any window, but it's proximity to the Metro. the staff is welcoming and warm.. Only improvment would be to put CNN on the list of available TV stations, but maybe it is better to know less when in this fabulous city!

Hotel is well worth the price. Location off the tourist route but accessible to all. Hotel staff could not have done more! Maria and Alvardo went out of their way to make our stay great. Thank You!

When checking out, the hotel tried charging me 6 extra Euro, while the TAXI had the meter on waiting for us. As such, I ended up paying extra 6 euro to the taxi driver, because of the incompetence of the hotel staff...

It is a brand new hotel (some rooms were actually been built while we were staying there). Very close to Sagrada Familia, a bit far (3 stations with the tube) from the city centre through. Employees were friendly and spoke English (noone else in Spain did!!!). Overall it was a good stay we had no problems.
