Quick stay in Barcelona, having spent a few days already at the Petit Palace Museum (it was more expensive for this one stay so we decided to try the Cristal palace instead) Area was the same, so we still had the benefit of being in a great location. The Petit Palace was a little more charming, but the Cristal Palace in the end was just as good. We had a problem with the toilet which they promptly fixed and gave us a free breakfast the next day. This is an excellently located hotel, close to Metro, sites, Plaza Catalunya and everything you need to access, restaurants etc.

Excellent location for visiting the city. First room given us with no view, not acceptable, got second day an excellent room with large view on an inside garden. Need to ask for this second type of rooms when reserving ( something like "premium"?).

Great, great location. Got a room with a street view after agreeing to wait for check-in an hour. Hotel was in very good condition and had a very pleasant stay. My wife says the bath gel was great. Appreciated two computers for use in the lobby.

Great location; many restaurants to choose from, and Metro station nearby. Breakfast at hotel is expensive, so eat outside in the neighborhood. Don't miss the great Gaudi architecture in this most interesting city of Barcelona.

The room was not a king bed room, when i asked they offered me a smoke story king bed one.I kept the non smoking one.The welcoming was cold and not kind.they didn't make easy to accumulate star alliance frequent flyers points.they unexpectedly charged us for breakfasts. On the venere confirmation (I showed them) was not mention the not included breakfast and the brochure we found in our room was positively mentioned as included. This surprise helped to consolidate the bad impression and to ruin the departure.

We were 2 female friends staying for a long weekend and had a fab time. We decided to spend a bit extra and have a decent hotel and this was just that. The breakfast was excellent but not included in the price. There were no tea/coffee making facilities in the room which was a pity. The city was great and I would reccomend both that and the hotel.

As a family with 2 teenage boys, we booked 2 rooms and we were all very impressed with the hotel. I had already booked another hotel on a different website as I couldn't find it on the 'Venere' website, however at the last minute I discovered that my reservation had never been confirmed. I then went back to 'Venere' as I had previously used the website and selected this hotel. I found the reviews very usefull and always check them out before booking. The hotel was in a perfect location, probably a bit more expensive than I would have originally chosen, however it was worth it and I would definitely go there again, and also recommend it to anyone else staying in Barcelona. Breakfast was not included but that suited us so we didn't have any meals in the hotel, the menu looked very good though and prices seemed ok. We would have been happy to eat there if we were staying longer. The staff were very friendly and very helpful with advice for getting around town. I think I will stick with 'Venere' the next time I'm booking rather than chance another website, even if it is a bit cheaper.

Room was very clean and spacious. Hotel staff were professional and unobtrusive. The location of the hotel is excellent, within easy walking distance of all central Barcelona's sights. The only factor that would prevent us from recommending this hotel would be the lack of sound proofing in the rooms. We were frequently woken by noises from the road outside and neighbouring rooms.

Hotel Crystal Palace Barcelona exceeded my expectations over the four days we were there, it was very clean, spacious, comfortable, cool (with the aircon), and all of the staff were very helpful and kind, the position of the hotel is perfect, in a quiet street between two busy main roads the Rambla Catalunya & Passeig de Gracia quite close to sight seeing bus stop, and perhaps 20 min walk down the colourful la rambla or adjacent streets to the seafront, breakfast had a good choice of food and the restaurant which we eat in only once because of the closeness of tapas bars and other restaurants was great. The only down side that I can think of is that the bar closed at 22.45 each night, this did not bother us to much as we were shattered every night, but if you want a late drink then call in at one of the many street bars 2 min walk away. Best things to do in Barcelona - get a 2 day sight seeing bus ticket great value, visit the zoo, big and worth every penny, visit the aquarium, but don’t bother with the boat tour its boring, one final tip I read a recommendation for a restaurant called VIPS on this web site, something must have changed because that was easiestly the worst experience we had in Barcelona, bad service, rubbish menu, incorrect order, crapy and cold burgers when they finally arrived, and to top it off they tried to overcharge me, steer clear.

Location is amazing, you are right at Las Ramblas. Also, it is on a major shopping strip and we walked to the waterfront from the hotel. So really, the price cannot be beat considering you are in the middle of everything. The one thing that caught me off guard was that in the picture of the room on site, I thought that it was carpeted. To me, a bedroom with no carpeting lacks warmth and seems sterile. I did not like that one thing. Also, we ate in the restaurant once for dinner, not cheap, could not eat any of my food, it was absolutely disgusting. Ok, so two things. But otherwise, the staff was great, everything really was nice.

Very impressive hotel for its price range. I was searching for an affordable hotel in a central location for my hen party. This hotel seemed perfect on the websites and appeared to be a better class of hotel than I would've hoped to find for the money. We were very impressed when we arrived and it was even better than the websites indicated, the 10 of us had a very enjoyable 3 night stay. The location was a couple of streets from Placa Catalunya - so we did a combination of walking and taking taxis or the tourist bus to places further away. I would definately recommend this hotel.

The Cristal Palace is a lovely, small hotel which could not be better located. It is right in the center of Barcelona, easy walking distance to sights, shopping, and the gothic district. Staff was helpful and accomodating, and rooms clean and functional. We were in an upper level room facing the rear, and there was no problem with street noise. An excellent value.

We had a very enjoyable stay in Barcelona and I would recommend the Cristal Palace. Our only problem was that on our arrival at the hotel we were told that they were not expecting us as our booking was for Dec not Oct as we had booked. This did not cause any problems as we had our confirmation of an October booking. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

On arriving at the hotel i discovered that the air conditioning in my room was not working. On asking the front desk, they agreed that the air conditioning was not working, and to open the windows. I was not best pleased given that the hotel fronts a relatively busy (and noisy) road. The room was nice, but the uncaring service from the hotel staff adversely impacted the experience for me.

The two rooms allocated were extremely hot. No daylight or fresh air from window due to the location on inside of hotel. Asked to be moved on first two of four nights, but told no more rooms in hotel. Slept very badly and asked again on last day, were given two much lighter cooler rooms and slept well. If we had been allocated these rooms at the beginning we would have enjoyed our stay much more. The staff were not welcoming, but it probably was not a good time following the Madrid bombing. Breakfast was not included, but the price was as stated by Venere.com. I would return, if guaranteed better rooms. The location was perfect for sightseeing and the Metro.

The cheapest 4* hotel offer i could find in the ramblas area, Absolutely no problems with the hotel after they moved us from the twin room to the double room i had booked. Breakfast may seem expensive at 12 euro's per person, but try getting the same choice and quantity of hot and cold food in the city, there's more than enough to take you through to tapas at 4.30pm. Great location for all the sights, bars, restaurants and tour buses. Highly recommended - would use again

Hotel in a very good location and generally good. However, on arrival, gentleman at reception was not very friendly and more importantly despite having booked a double room for my wife and I, we were told that this was only a request and not an official booking, and we were put in a twin room with no alternatives. Furthermore this was explained to us rather abruptly.

Unfortunately a special surprise trip for my wife was ruined by the fact that my wallet was stolen on our only full day in Barcelona. The reception staff were more than helpful in arranging phone calls to Barclaycard and the Police also acting as interpreters. However, we have since learnt that the method of theft is a well known ruse by local criminals. It would have been advantageous if the hotel could have provided advice on such activities. A shame the spa bath did not work! The 24 hour expresso coffee advertised is available from a dispenser in the hall by the lifts and very small plastic cups are dispensed. Only two sachets of coffee are provided on arrival and there is no facility available for either milk or creamers.

On arriving at the hotel I found it difficult to believe that it was only going to cost us €240 for two nights but it did!! The Cristal Palace is a modern, clean and comfortable hotel. The reception area is very spacious, marbled floors with an open planned lounge and bar to your left. The reception staff are most attentive and did not once question the validity of my booking (which has happened to me before when using these hotel sites). Lifts service all floors with complementary coffee machines on all floors (Lovely!). The room, whilst not huge was big enough. Again marbled floors throughout and the decor exactly as per the photo. The bathroom was spacious with all the usual luxuries that you would expect in a 4*hotel. In terms of the location this hotel is 100%. It is about a two minute walk to La Rablas via Placa Catulunya with all other sights within walkin distance. This hotel was just perfect! Will definatly go there again and will certainly book with venere.com

All in all the room's were fantastic (we stayed in the annex building in one of the Suite’s so I'm not sure what the rooms are like in the main part of the hotel) they were very spacious and all the staff we met were very friendly. This hotel was infact recommended to me by another hotel, which I have stopped in on several previous occasions, well, I'm afraid they've now lost my business to this one!! Two minutes walk to the main square at the top of La Ramblas, right next to local shops and bars I would think you’d be very lucky to find a more welcoming, relaxing and spacious hotel for the same price. Hope this helps.

The Hotel was very central for everything. Bus from the airport to Catalunya square and then a 10 minute walk. The double room we were shown first was too small, moved to a twin which was better but no view outside so couldnt tell what the weather was like. Website intimated that breakfast was included but was not. We ate down the road at VIPS (good value). The cost on the website did not include tax which added a further 60+ euros to our bill. Not happy bout this but the Hotel standards are very good and is well situated in a pleasant central area. Costly but good.

Generally very good. Clean comfortable well equipped room in excellent, safe location close to many tourist attractions and Metro. My only complaint is concerning the breakfast charging scheme: 1) This is NOT included in the quoted Venere price, and was about 10.68 Euros per person per day including tax. 2) Even if you don't bother to have breakfast, on checkout, the reception desk appear to assume that you did, and will automatically charge you for it.
