I stayed one night at the Dorint and was delighted. At 120.-SFr per night, this is an excellent price/quality ratio for Switzerland. Of course, the surroundings are not picturesque but the location is close enough of the fair. Only one negative remark, the air-conditioning of the neighboring rooms (mine I turned of) was clearly audible. Overall, a great stay nevertheless.

By carFrom Germany: from Karlsruhe take the A5 until the border control of Weil am Rhein. After the border, take the first exit Messe/Badischer Bahnhof and exit the round about at Zentrum Nord. Follow signs to Hotels an der Messe. At the traffic lights by the Musical Theater turn left into Schönaustrasse. After 100 meters you will find the Dorint An der Messe Basel on the right side.
From Switzerland: leave the A2 at Messe/Badischer Bahnhof. Follow the street until the second set of traffic lights and turn left into Maulbeerstrasse.
