Hotel very conveniently located, just 500 m from Forbidden City and Tiannamen Square and +200 m from Wangfujing commercial area and subway station. I had a basement room - a bit too dark, but knew it would be like that and was away all day, so no big deal. Bathroom needs a bit more cleanliness in shower area (dark fungus marks). Breakfast (at an additional cost) was OK. All in all, I would recommend it and go there again. Ms.Sabrina, at the travel desk, was particularly helpful and very fluent in English. Other staff with poorer language skills; this is something to improve.

Most of the staff at reception were not very attentive or caring unless you were booking tours. They answered the telephone or just wandered off while attending to you. They showed little concern when our card was swallowed by their cash machine saying "it is out of order" but there was no sign on it. They said the bank will be here tomorrow (a public holiday and we were leaving in the morning). They also said to ring the bank (it was after hours and we don't speak Mandarin). Fortunately about 15 minutes later the card was ejected and my wife just happened to be nearby to retrieve it. We were locked out of our room twice. The second time the cleaners card would not even open it so they had to send for the maintenance man. We would stay here again though because of the location and value for money and hope that the staff had been retrained.

Very pleased. A short walk (just minutes) to the Forbidden City, Tian'an Men Square, and Wangfujing Street. The price was very reasonable for the location. Breakfast buffet well worth the price (at 58 rbm). Lots of choices. Room a bit small but clean and quiet, with typical Chinese hard mattress. Really good shower. Staff was helpful and frindly (helped us get taxis); spoke English well. We were a bit wary when reserving because of the low room rate, but were more than pleased. Would definately chose it again.

The most positive point of this hotel is the excellent location, close to Tienanmen Square, the shopping area (Wangfujing) and metro station. Ideal for a short touristic stay in Beijing. Money change was only possible using an ATM which was not working during the weekend I was there. It was therefore very difficult to change money since the banks were closed. Check out was extremely slow (more than 30 min. only for myself), which is unfortunately usual in China, but the check out time in this hotel was the longest I have experienced in this country. A lot of patience is recommended.

Perfect location, staff good in English language. Only negative point is the air condition. When leaving the room, energy and air condition is off, if you turn on, it's loud and you feel the filters should be cleaned or renewed. Otherwise a perfect location at affordable price.

The hotel was clean, comfortable and in a good location. Restaurant was fine. The only other thing I might have like was a pool or hot tub after long days touring

Excellent hotel. Pretty much inside the Forbidden City's block. Couldn't be closer. I was very satisfied with my 3-night stay. Lots of international TV channels and good breakfast. I used taxis to go everywhere as it is so cheap. Taxis were always waiting in the front entrance.

overall it is a great hotel and the people were very helpful. The english of some of the staff at the desk could be better, but they tried to be very helpful and succeed. When i reserved on the net i did a standard room and when i arrived i found out it was a ' garden level ' room with half in the basement. I had a bit of a difficult time in trying to explain i wanted a better room even if it cost more as the price was not the important issue. Finally the manager straightened it out and i had a lovely room, it was more a language problem than anything else. Internet worked perfectly and there is a restaurant in the hotel and it is near a few other good restaurants.I would highly recommend the hotel to travellers and would definitely stay there again. The location was superb next to tienamen square but in hutung area and next to gardens which run parallel to the main road. It is a stone's through literally to the best hotels in beijing such as The grand beijing. And it is a block away from the big shopping street wafuching and the oriental plaza.
