Hotel Crowne Plaza London-Shoreditch - London

Our experience at this hotel was extremely positive. We stayed in room 518 which has a king size bed. This room had a good view, it was quiet and clean. This room reminded me of a western style hotel. There was AC which was nice, a room safe and plenty of room for two people. We were there for the British open and sightseeing. We did not use the hotel for anything other than a place to sleep. So I cannot comment on food or the gym which they did have. For us it was a great location and I would definitely stay there again. The staff was friendly but I did not use them much either. The hotel is in a safe area, although it is a trendy area with lots of clubs nearby. Friday and Saturday night especially, there are a lot of people in the nearby clubs. I would highly recommend walking out of the hotel and traveling right up high street for some night life. Although we did not go into any of the clubs my wife and I enjoyed watching the younger crowd. There are great pubs to have a pint of ale are on the left as you travel north up the street and a block or two up on the right is a Gyro shop with great food and its open late. We used the Liverpool tube station for a lot of our travel as it is about 7 blocks south of the hotel. There is another station called, Shoreditch high street over ground station. That is a block or two from the hotel and goes to white chapel where you can then go anywhere you want. Travel was extremely easy. Again, great trip, great hotel and great experience. Avoid using the mini bar, go across the street and use the Tessco market (much cheaper). We traveled to heathrow from this hotel by rail, which is easy to do but take awhile. We took Liverpool to Paddock station then took the express train in. Give yourself an hour and a half as the tube is busy in the morning and in the evening.
