Hotel is very good, relatively close to the airport. The hotel has a shuttle bus to the airport; however a payment of 3 Euros needs to provided for just couple of kilometers. A shuttle bus is available for travel to Rome center, with very good times, and good service. Also, it is cheaper than the train, and is convenient because it leaves and comes right to the hotel, and stops in the Rome center.

My husband and I have stayed overnight at this hotel a number of times when we fly in and out of Rome. The hotel is close to the airport either by a 15euro cab or their shuttle bus. (I have never been to find the departure point from the airport in 6 visits). It is quite a reasonable hotel to stay overnight between flights if you can get a good deal with breakfast. The rooms are comfortable enough, the beds and pillows are extremely comfortable and the american breakfast is quite good. The food/snacks and drinks in the bar are very expensive, however there are 2 restaurants 5 mins walk away or a number on the waterfront at Fumicino 15 mins away. The pool is just a pool in the middle of a lawn, no shade and 2 pool chairs so vertually unusable. Some staff at reception are very helpful and polite, some dont speak a lot of english (lots of europeans staying so think there should be more english) and have some difficulty understanding and keep saying I dont speak english. Check in and out can be very slow especially when there is a flight in. We always pay and check out late the night before we have to leave as otherwise you need to be trying to check out at least 2 hours before you want to leave. There is no porter available most times and there are 5 stairs with a small ramp for suitcases which is impossible to use. However if you go up the ramp and in the small door just before the main door you dont have to carry your suitcases up and down these stairs. We would stay again because of location to the airport and price.

While this is a new hotel it is showing some signs of wear especially in the hall carpets. The room was very spacious. There are a few places nearby to pick up some basic foods and drinks especially beer for a reasonable price. The restaurant is upscale and has a nice look about it. The lounge/bar is attractive. Expect to pay usual prices. I always object to having to pay extra for wi-fi. The concierge was very helpful in arranging a car for $20 to the airport outside of the shuttle hours. Actually it is the same shuttle and probably the same driver at a premium fee. Take this into consideration if you have an early morning flight. We chose this place due to proximity (6 minutes to airport)

No hot water in shower. When I tried to call front desk to tell them about it, I was hung up on three times before a person answered. Maintenance person helped the problem but it was never completely resolved. Checkout person had difficulty with US credit card, stating the card was declined. Later I found from the credit card company that no formal declines were issued, thus this problem must have been the hotel's. A great location to stay prior to an early morning flight, but the hotel has some problems.

Staff was completely incompetent or understaffed. The food was horrible (stale bread), overpriced, and there were no other choices in the area except McDonalds. The lines to check in or check out were very long, the staff were either rude or exhasperated...no one liked their job. The shuttle to the airport was 6 Euros per person and was a Chinese fire drill not leaving on time causing less than adequate time to get through baggage and security. For most of the hotel guests this is the end of the journey as it was in our case and we were looking for a place to sleep near the airport, but we had to have two meals there and it was obvious that their food service was sub-par...almost everything was something frozen...it even tells you that on the menu! The other guests that were waiting for the shuttle to arrive were in line complaining about the hotel and that it was the opposite of a Marriott experience that anyone had had.

Rooms were clean and plain. The reception staff was not very friendly. The service in the bar was very poor. The breakfast was nice. Not very impressive overall, but about what we expected for the price. The information about the location was very misleading. We thought we could walk from the train that dropped us at the airport but it was too far. We could not figure out how to get from the airport to the "city center" referred to on the instructions and ended up taking a cab.

This is an overpriced hotel that has seen better days. There was no hot water to take a shower in the morning. The staff was flippantly unconcerned when I complained about it. The map they gave us to the airport was incorrect and resulted in frustration. I would never stay here again, or any other Marriot fro that matter. There are many better accommodations in the area for much less money.

The only "ick" I would have to say is that the shuttle bus from the airport to the hotel was nowhere to be found, after searching for 1/2 an hour we decided to take a taxi. The rooms are very small and for a hotel in the middle of nowhere, 200Euros is very pricey.

Surly staff, did not seem interested in assisting us in any way. Frequent guest of Marriott hotels and have never been treated so unprofessionally or carelessly. Not a good representation of Marriott quality. You pay for the shuttle to the airport, the restaurant is worth missing-we walked to a nearby Trattoria and had an excellent meal for 1/5 the cost of the restaurant at the hotel. If you are staying only one night to get flight back to the US, or wherever, stay in Ostia Antica-better rates and nicer surroundings.

The Venere listing says: "The Leonardo Da Vinci airport lies only 1 km from the hotel. " WRONG! The reality is the airport is more than 3 km away by car and impossible to reach by foot due to narrow dangerous roads. You have to take a taxi or the hotel van. The hotel has the audacity to charge 6 Euros per person for a ride to the airport (only at certain times) after overcharging for an ant-infested room. The wheelchair lift did not work, and the staff made no attempt to fix it, also the hydraulic step on the shuttle van did not function. A reservation was made thru Venere.com yet when we called ahead to confirm, the hotel never heard of us. The room was full of little ants. The hotel restaurant had the same 3 entrees every night...lamb,tuna,pizza. It was good food, but they obviously don't expect anyone to stay here more than one night. And with good reason...no smart person would ever stay here for more than one night. Very poor value for 180 euros a night. It wasn't near the airport, in fact it wasn't near anything at all.

We are Marriott timeshare owners and always stay at Marriott hotels when we travel. Value for the dollar at this hotel was ridulous. We stayed in very nice small hotels in Rome and Florence which did not approach the price of this hotel and their offerings with service and food quality were much better. I also plan on writing Marriott to tell them how disappointed we were with the Courtyard by Marriott.

Very Good. But Control the conformity of the internet price vs. the real price with service. E.G. the open parking (is not a garage) is not included, is an extra price. This is a surprise, because You are close to the airport not to ROME city, and no alternatives are available, since you have to pay the extra charge.

The hotel is a bit off the beaten track! It is in a light, industrial area and you have to get a cab (about 15 euro) from the airport. Many cab drivers don't know where it is. When you arrive, book your shuttle reservation for getting back to the airport. You really need a 'reservation'. It was jammed with folks trying to leave at the same time. Only those with 'guaranteed' reservations got on the shuttle and they did bring out several shuttles to accommodate the task. Those without reservations were told they had to wait for the next one--approx. 20 minutes later. Also, please note that the shuttle service is not free as in the states. There was a 6 euro (I think) charge for it. The hotel is clean and very modern. The restaurant had very good food (although the service would be considered slow in the states). Their morning breakfast, included in our rate, was very extensive. Rooms are spacious and clean. Bathrooms are very large and we were able to watch CNN and BBC news (in English).

The airport shuttle was not free..it cost 6 euros per person. We waited at the Rome airport for 25 minutes while the van driver was inside the terminal (the man directing the shuttles advised us of this fact) and then when he returned, he drove so fast that we were thrown about the inside of the cab. Also, an item we had purchased in Florence was broken. One of my traveling companions called him an ass____! Then, the shuttle does not operate until 630am, we had to call a taxi because we had a 705am flight. The wakeup call did not come when requested. The internet was 6 euros per hour and should be complimentary because of the outrageous cost of the rooms. The location is in a terrible area...you cannot venture out for dinner unless you take a taxi. This hotel disappointed me a great deal especially since the hotel we had booked from this website for our arrival in Rome was wonderful.

The description page states airport shuttle. It does not tell you that it is 6 Euros per person to use this shuttle nor does it give the times of the 'pay to ride' shuttle. We had a 700am flight out of Rome and the shuttle service did not begin to operate until 6:30am so we had to hire a cab. We waited for over 20 minutes for the driver to return to his van and then he drove like a mad man trying to make up the time. We were literally tossed around the car and one of the items in my associates carry on luggage was broken. Also, the price included breakfast but again we had to leave so early in the morning we could not eat breakfast (the serving hours started at 7am). For the price of the hotel and having to pay for the shuttle, one would have thought that the internet service would be complimentary as it is in hotels such as the Crowne Plaza but it was 6 Euros an hour to use. Needless to say, I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. In fact, I have friends registered there starting on September 18th and I fully intend to encourage them to make a change to their reservation.

This hotel is vastly overpriced. The lack of competence of the clerk behind the reception desk was astonishing. I tried to pay for my and my family's stay with my Master Charge Card but the charge did not go through. The clerk responded arrogantly and in a nasty way, as though I was trying to get away with something. My Amex card worked. I later called Master Charge and learned that there was a system error at the hotel and my card was fine. In my many years of having stayed at hotels all over the world, I have never encountered such unprofessional and arrogant public relations. Furthermore, the restaurant at this hotel was dreadful and overpriced. I can get better pasta out of a can from a supermarket.
