Our room was very comfortable, especially glad there was a tea/coffee tray, which is unusual in French hotels (only gripe here was 2 teabags, 4 coffee sachets but only 2 milks provided). Walls were rather thin so we could hear our neighbours, fortunately they were not too noisy. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful.

Modern and clean. Staff were helpful, but you needed to ask for additional toilet paper or tissues. Conveniently located, close to Promenade Angalis and Rue Massena. Great little restaurants in the area. Athough the breakfast was extra, there was a good selection.

Very central hotel, good value in an expensive city. Loved the free supply of hot drinks and croissants in reception. Fabulous triple room with 3 comfortable single beds, fridge, complimentary water and safe in room. Receptionist Soumia very helpful recommending a restaurant and booking it for us.

Overall a good hotel, but we had a disgusting sewage smell in the room. Breakfast is not worth the money - there are much nicer and cheaper places within 3-5 minutes walk. The service was excellent, but they didn't have enough car parking tickets, so I had to pay full daily price in a public underground parking. Unless they fix the smell problem, I will not stay there again.

My second stay at this Hotel, the first with my family. Location is excellent in my opinion and we had a large room which we got on special offer at Venere. My only one gripe was the second time we stayed there was a slight sewage smell sometimes but this may not have been the hotel's fault. Would definitely stay here again.

I had a lovely stay at the Best Western Roosevelt. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Rooms were spacious with a well equipped bathroom. I will definitely return to this hotel and would recommend it. A tip for people travelling by train you can buy a regional pass for 5 Euros (but only on certain days so you would need to check) which works out much cheaper than buying individual tickets.

Room was small but recently renovated and very clean. Coffee making facilities in the room were very useful as I forgot to buy water but was able to boil some and use that. Toiletries included moisturiser which was a pleasant surprise as generally this only occurs in more expensive hotels. Would stay here again.

Excellent location, 3 mins walk to Promenade des Anglais; 2 minutes walk from street with many restaurants with outdoor tables. Room and facilites very good, including empty mini-fridge. Hotel was in a great location and cheaper than some hotels of a similar standard. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Only critisism was the bathroom. It appeared it hadnt been updated when the rest of the building was. it was very badly laid out, if you are over 5'10" sitting on the toilet is nearly impossible.

Stayed at this hotel 3 days in a double bedroom in the beginning of july 2008. Bedroom is nice, but bathroom is very small, and in particular the shower. Aircondition is very low, so it doesn't cool down the room that much. It's about 8 minutes to walk to the beach. There's many restaurants nearby, and not far from the old town with more restaurants and market.

Although the rooms were clean, one of the rooms had a problem with a wet carpet, which they attempted to solve but were unable to do so. Also some of the rooms had a smell of drains when entering and you had open the windows to try and remove it. I think some of the rooms need to be re-decorated particularly the bathrooms. Otherwise our stay was fine.

The hotel was situated in an excellent location, just minutes walk from lots of shops and restaurants. The staff were friendly. The room itself was a very good size, the large beds were most comfortable. Provision of a fridge, tea and coffee making facilities and a safe (for a nominal charge)were welcoming additions. However, the bathroom was probably in need of refurbishment. Though it was clean and quality of towels good. Our only complaint was whenever we turned on the air con, there was such a terrible smell (almost of stale water) that we gave up and turned it off. Fortunately the temperature at night cooled enough for this not to be a major problem. Word of warning as regards transport from airport. We got a taxi at around 9pm and were charged 45 Euros - bevause it was night time the driver explained when I queried the amount. (Signs at the airport indicated 20-25 or upto 30 for a night trip). However, for our return trip we jumped on the express airport bus for 4 euros each. The bus runs very regularly and the bus stop is only a short walk from the hotel. Recommend getting the train to Cannes. We bought a ticket for 12 euros which meant we could get on and off the train to see various little tows along the way. Antibes was lovely, with fantastic yachts in the marina.

We stayed in the Comfort Roosevelt for 3 nights at the end of August. This hotel is an excellent base. It is only one block away from the busy pedestrianised area, which is very convenient at night. The rooms were very clean. We were actually given two ajoining double rooms (Room 103) even though there were only two of us! Hotels like this are real gems. Everyone knows that the 5-star hotels are going to be fab, but with 3-stars, you can't always be sure. However, this hotel fitted everything we wanted from this category of hotel...it had friendly staff, it was clean with a modern finish, it provided a decent breakfast and it was conveniently located, especially for walking back at night.

Hotel in ideal location. Near to pedestrianised area in Nice and short walk to promenade and beach. Room was spacious and clean. However the bathroom was very dated and could do with being modernised. Hotel is in an old traditional building occupying the corner of two streets. You pay extra for breakfast but there was always a good choice of foods and drinks.

Excellent hotel with very helpful staff we had a very large corner room with 1 double and 1 single bed (could have fitted another bed in easily) and a balcony looking over the main street (but no noise), continental breakfast was good with a good assortment of food for us and our 12 year old son, the aircon in the bedrooms was great. The hotel is in a good position with most areas within a steady 20 mins walk and lots of restaurants only 100 m walk away enjoy

The staff here were the most helpful and pleasant I had experienced in my entire trip around Europe. They allowed us to leave our luggage there before check-in, they were happy to spend the time showing us sights on the map without even asking and there was always someone pleasant manning reception 24 hours a day. The staff are certainly a credit to the hotel. The rooms were clean although maybe slightly on the small side.(nothing new for Europe)The bathroom was rather spacious however. Breakfast was not included and although not overly expensive, it was better to buy some freshly made pastries from the bakeries down the street. The lift was a little scary- I much preffered to take the stairs even with my room on the 4th floor. The hotel also had free internet available which was a great help however it was only useful for checking emails and had no facilities to download photos. I would stay here agin - it was great value for money.

Location, room, services excellent. We had a bad experience in the area. We were aproached by a woman asking for direction of internet cafe soon followed by a man who claimed to be a plain clothed policeman who insisted on seeing my passport and money. He also looked in the woman,s purse and she had lots of dollars. He said he was protecting us and suggested that the woman was trafficking drugs. We were three may be that is why he let us go. We informed hotel receptionist and he informed the police. We think they were muggers. This was about ten at nights and a few streets away from the hotel.

The room was clean, but quite small. The television provided cable which was great for those early morning jet lag hours. I'd skip the provided breakfast for 10 euros, as there are plenty of cafes to eat for less expensive with better food. Over all, though it was a friendly place in a convenient location, there are much better price/quality ratios available in nice. For only 25 euros more, there are plenty of hotels on the promenade with sea views, swimming pools, and nice lobbies. If you are staying for a week or more, I'd suggest an apartment (which is where I moved the day after I arrived).

Overall, I think a 3star is rating this hotel a bit too high, but that's ok since we only paid a 2 star price. The most disturbing things were the lack of any hot water in the morning and the paper thin walls. The location was ok, but I would not go back to Nice in general again -- unless you like to rub elbows with the famous there are MUCH nicer Med cities at far more reasonable prices. If you do get stuck in Nice, this isn't a terrible choice of a hotel, but it probably won't meet your expectations.

Although the lobby of the hotel was clean and well decorated, the rest of the hotel was fairly shabby with wallpaper peeling off walls and in our room there were some fairly unpleasant smells coming from th bathroom. There was only one plug in the room which was nowhere near a mirror and the only mirror in the room had no light nearby so you could not see when it was dark. The rooms were very noisy we could hear the conversations of the people in the room next door and the TV. We had a nasty experience in the lift when we stopped between floors and the doors opened to a wall! Although the location of the hotel was very good we were disappointed with the rooms and we would not revisit this hotel

A friend and I went here for a girls' trip, and we found the location perfect, the staff exceptional, the breakfast satisfying and the overall stay was great. As a family of six, it is often difficult to find adequate accomodations for a decent price; especially in a "resort or tourist" area. The hotel is in a very good location in Nice. It is good place to stay for the money. the rooms are clean, although the use of space is not very efficient.

The hotel was functional and very convenient for central Nice. The reception staff were very efficient and welcoming and helpful with our enquiries. The decor in the room was tired and dull. The fittings in the bathroom however were excellent. We did not use the hotel dining facilities so cannot comment on this. There was a lot of noise from other rooms which came into our room. Overall the hotel was fine for our purpose of a place to sleep in the centre of a popular city and the price was reasonable.

The room was very small and dark (the photos show us a completely different room) and it not very clean either.

My husband and I enjoyed our stay, however we did ask to move rooms after the first night as it was rather small and dark, our room for the following 3 nights was far better. The staff were very helpful.

The staff was so kind. They immediately asked if I had ever been to Nice. Since I had not, they took out a map, marked where all the hot spots were and answered any questions I had. It was great! And it was close to the beach.
