Comfort Inn Almedina-Coimbra - Coimbra

Great relation price/quality. This hotel is well insered in the centre of the city of Coimbra. One bad thing is that it has no parking lot, and it´s a little difficult to find free parking nereby. It offers a good breakfast with a good variety of choice. In overall a good choice for who needs a cheap and well located staying place.

Upon arrival we thought the hotel was somehow out of business, as the portion of the building immediately beneath the sign was boarded up and covered with graffiti. However, once we found the actual door (a little way down the street) the staff were eager to assure us that the hotel was nice. The manager explained that the many closed businesses in the area are a sign of Portugal's struggling economy. The location made walking to all the sights we wished to see quite easy, and we did not feel at all at risk walking back after dark. The included breakfast was substantial. If we planned to stay longer in Coimbra, I would have wanted something a little more polished, but for two nights with very little time in our room anyway, it was a good choice. Although it was quite different from a typical Comfort Inn in the US, the hotel was fine, the staff friendly, the location excellent and the price was reasonable.

The staff was very kind, the bedroom was clean, with a fantastic view of historical centre of Coimbra. The international breakfast was good. This hotel is a very nice place to stay.

We are a family with two children. Overall we are satisfied with our stay in this hotel. We were given a family room (for four). The mattress of the additional two beds were a bit hard, but the room was spacious and quiet. Breakfast was really good. We will come back to this hotel if we have a chance to come back to this wonderful city (nice food!!).

Everything ok. Only one thing I didn't like it was the carpet/moquette floor (I prefer parquet or tiles).

Nice hotels 5 minutes walk away from the downtown of coimbra. We were unlucky having a rugby team and school trip in our hotel at the time we stayed in. Overall it was worth the money, can be recommended!!!
