Staying at Tornabuoni Beacci was a fantastic experience! I'd recommend to stop looking further and simply book this wonderful hotel! Price/quality ratio is excellent. We were positively surprised by the quality of the rooms and the beauty of the palazzo in which the hotel is situated. It is much better than on the pictures (usually, it's the opposite). Rooms are spacious, clean and airconditioned. The hotel is perfectly located in the middle of a shopping street with all the top brands (Prada, Ferragamo, Zegna, to name a few). Ponte Vecchio is just around the corner and the other main sights are only a short walk away. But what makes this place really special are: 1) the rooftop terrace. Romantically decorated with flowers & a spectacular view of the city, you can have your breakfast there or enjoy a cocktail at night; 2) the staff. They are all very friendly and hardworking, it really made a difference! BRAVO!!!!

Had a refurbished room in new section, great & big bathroom with best shower in Italy. Bed & pillows great! Staff incredibly helpful, professional and caring! Breakfast buffet excellent with fresh fruit, homemade tarts, great made to order cappuccino! View from breakfast terrace and flowers spectacular! Location couldn't be better! Stay here, you will be so happy!

Once again the ratings on Venere did not fail me. It was my first time at Tornabuoni Beacci and it was fantastic. Situated along the Fifth Avenue of Florence, it also has staff of outstanding personalities. Staff on duty are always helpful and friendly. The room was surprisingly HUGE. Yes, I use the word HUGE. Not just when comparing it to hotels in Europe, but relative to hotels outside of Europe, the size was over whelming. Would definitely recommened that anyone visiting Florence should stay at Tornabuoni Beacci.

Unique quality and a bit quirky in a pleasant sort of way. Very nice shared outdoor deck with view and bar. Rooms could use a fresh coat of paint, but very nice nonetheless. Tiny reception area on ground floor, but lots of public space upstairs. Good service from the concierge. On the main 'designer' street above Prada. Gucci and Pucci and many others close by.

The hotel was a real surprise for us: staying in old palace was as a fairy-tale. Nice receptionist, quick parking attendant, women on the breakfast were a genuine royal retinue. The location of the hotel is perfect. Florence and Tornabuoni Beacci is the best couple.
Canada, Jun 2009
My mother and I stayed at Tornabuoni Beacci for 4 nights May 29-June 1/09. We had room 4 on the top floor beside a reception desk where the phone rang quite often. This was a double room and I had asked for twin beds but they were full and could only accomodate us with a double room. It was actually two beds pushed together but pulling them apart would have given us less room in an already small room. The furniture was a bit old and shabby and the bathroom door didn't quite close but everything was spotlessly clean and worked wonderfully. Also the breakfast terrace was fantastic with citrus trees growing and a great view of Florence. The breakfast was fresh fruit and croissants and fresh squeezed orange juice and capacino to die for. The front desk staff was great except for one fellow on when we arrived who was not very personable. The location is perfect. I had emailed twice before I left for driving directions to the hotel and never got a reply which was quite dissapointing.

This hotel is an easy walk from the station, and also to Duomo/Uffizi/Ponte Vecchio (all about 10 minutes). It was a bright and friendly place to stay, with attractive public lounges and bar. The decor was highly traditional rather than modern. Breakfast was well above average for Italy. We stayed there in winter and found the place comfortably warm. Note also that at this time of year - mid-December - the main attractions were all open and it was easy to get into the Uffizi.

Elegant, well-situated hotel with charming rooms (can hear a bit of hallway noise) and excellent Old World service. Lovely outdoor patio for good weather. Excellent, abundant breakfasts. Among the other guests: visiting opera singers and many repeat customers.

The Tornabuoni Beacci is a wonderful hotel. Fantastic location in the prime shopping district of Florence, very clsoe to museums and landmarks. Our room was very large, very quiet, and has A/C and Heat controls. Bed was super comforable. The staff was so frienldy and helpful, they reccommended excellent resturants, took care of the reservations, and served a delightful breakfast. The terrace had a 360 degree view of Florence.

Would highly recommend this hotel! Fabulous location...could walk everywhere...we began our trip to Italy here for our first two days and ended our trip here. The staff "took care" of us!! We felt like family. Beautiful Renaissance decor. Great breakfast provided with wonderful cappucini!! A highlight was the rooftop terrace where we enjoyed our breakfast each morning and ended our evenings with a nightcap!! Can't wait to visit again!

2nd time in the city, this much closer to city center than place I stayed before. Close to Duomo, Ponte Vecchio and the southside of the city. Hotel was adequate, friendly service, ok breakfast. Make sure your room is not beneath breakfast patio or else the sound of dragging chairs and tables will wake you up at 7am.

This is a fun property with huge rooms. The three terraces provide a lovely view and a nice place to have a drink. Be sure and ask for a room with an air conditioning unit hung from the sealing. We had to move because the air conditioning unit that was in the window in our first room was not able to cool the big room. However, staff was very agreeable and moved us immediately.

Hotel is wonderful! Staff aims to please. Rooms are spacious and well decorated. If you need a bathtub (rather than a shower stall only) specify this before you book - we didn't and wife had to settle for showers only - punished me for it by going on a shopping spree. Also, internet available only in a common sitting room - should've been in all rooms given technology in 2008. Otherwise a great property with lots of charm.

This was second visit to Tornabuoni Beacci. Last was 18 years ago. Our room had to be changed because the a/c wasn't performing in the first room. Draperies appeared not to have been cleaned since the last time I was there! They were kind enough to move us to a cool room, I'm sure an upgrade, for same price. Location cannot be beaten! All in all, a good experience!

Staff where very helpful, dinner recommentation was the best meal of our trip. Location wonderfully close to all that we wanted to see. We had booked 2 rooms for 2 people each both wonderful but one was twice as large as the other and they where the same price. We would stay here again. Air conditioning was great and needed in late June.

We stayed here for 4 nights in June 2008. We had a triple room for my wife and I and my daughter who had just graduated college. The service here is as good as it gets anywhere. Every single employee we encountered was pleasant and went overboard to ensure we enjoyed our stay. Simply put - these people want to keep you happy and they know how to do it. I've stayed at other great hotels in Florence, but this one shines!! One note: if you are in poor health or are handicapped you should get the location of your room ahead as some of them require alot of steps. We were in room 59 which requires you to go up 4 floors in the elevator and across the hotel (including outside across the terrace - which is beautiful) and then decend 2 flights of stairs. This was not a problem for us and was well worth it. The room was wonderful and spotlessly clean. There are other rooms that are much easier to get to - request these if you want to avoid a little exercise.

This is a beautiful building with many lovely common rooms. The room was spacious with a sitting area. I found the mattress to be hard, but that was my experience throughout Italy. The area is full of high end stores (Tiffany's next door). We arranged to have laundry done through the main office - a big mistake. For relatively few items (less than one washer load), the bill was about $100! Should have gone to a local laundramat, of which there were several.

We booked two rooms for our family of 5 for one night in December and were very happy with our accommodation. Our rooms were nicely decorated, very clean and a good size for Europe, and the staff were friendly. The breakfast was good and the coffee excellent. The hotel is a short walk from the train station and within easy walking distance of all the main attractions in Florence. We really enjoyed our stay at Tornabuoni Beacci and would stay there again.

The Tornabuoni Beacci is perfect for people who want a decently priced hotel in the middle of downtown Florence. It takes no more than a few minutes to walk to the Duomo, Uffizi, Ponte Vecchio, and Santa Maria Novella Station. The surrounding shopping scene is excellent and at the end of the day you can come back to have a nice glass of grand marnier at their bar or on their terrace. I really enjoyed my stay here and would love to stay again.

The hotel is in a great location and the view/outside deck was beautiful. They did have a very nice breakfast which was included in the price. I thought the room was just ok, think shabby chic. Clean but old bathrooms and clean but borderline creepy rooms. Also, because my room was outside the prep area for the bar and restaurant, it was loud. I did have a nice stay and would say that overall it was just ok.

Very nice hotel. Good value for money (at least in August when the prices go down). My room - nicely furbished - even had a private balcony. The terrace of the hotel is wonderful with flowers and plants. (You can have your breakfast there.) To get in to my room I had to go up and down through several staircases - I kind of liked the labyrinth but this might be a problem for people with an inability to move around. (However, they help you with the luggage.) The hotel is located in one of the main shopping streets close to the most important museums etc. of the city.

This was our first trip to Florence and our first to the Tornabuoni Beacci. Since this trip was for our honeymoon, I had specified this in the 'comments' section through my booking, hoping the hotel would be able to do a little something extra for us. Arriving at the hotel from the train station is easy enough (10 minute walk, tops), although after an overnight flight and train ride I think we were a little disorientated and found ourselves lost. We got some directions from some nice locals and we were on our way. Check in was smooth.. but when the door opened to our 3rd floor room, I was a tad disappointed. The decor distinctly reminded me of my grandmother's. I don't know if this qualifies as charm or whatnot, but i wasn't very impressed. While the room was spacious enough, right away I realized that the hotel didn't upgrade us, despite my note about the honeymoon. I guess they were fully booked, .. but that soon became the least of our problems. Although it was mid/late sept, temperatures were still in the upper 80s. When the hotel attendant attempted to turn on our AC Unit, it didn't work. He fiddle around with it for a minute, said something in Italian, and left. I naively hoped they'd send someone back to fix the AC, but that never happened. The reason why this was an issue was with no AC - we were now forced to keep the window open. This was problematic for two reasons - 1. The hotel is located in a VERY noisy area. I lived in Manhattan for a few years, so I'm used to noise..but the entire night we were woken by scooters beeping, drunks yelling and sirens blaring. 2. Killer mosquitoes. Since the hotel is a block from the river, the mosquitoes are unbelievable. I literally had 20 bug bites after our 4 nights there. Complaining aside, if you do score a room with AC or a suite, this hotel is a great choice. The rooftop patio is fantastic. My new wife and I enjoyed wine and food while watching the sun set over Florence more than once. The breakf

During our visit to Italy, we stayed in hotels in Milan, Florence and Venice. While all were nice, the Hotel Tornabuoni Beacci was the best rate and by far the overall best value. The service was impeccable and always pleasant. The rooftop terrace was heavenly. The breakfast food was very good and plentiful. One morning I asked my husband to just go get me some coffee and the dining room woman made up a whole tray of food and carried it up!

This was my favorite hotel on a 9 city tour! Loved it, the people were great and very helpful. The hotel is charming. The room was very big by European standards. Bathroom was up to date and shower had great pressure. The rooftop garden was a wonderful place to watch the sunset. The location is superb, less than 500 feet from the Arno River and only 1 "Ponte" from Ponte Vecchio. If you like Gucci, walk down the block. There are 2 ATM machines right outside the front door. Theres an adorable little family owned restaurant across the street. Yet the street itself is quiet. I would recommend this hotel highly!!

This hotel was far better than the web site shows. It is situated right on the most expensive shopping street, near Gucci and Tiffany. It is also just by the beautiful river. You would expect to pay a much higher price for this location. The hotel has amazing character and beautiful decor. Staff are excellent. All my friends staying in other hotels at the same time took down the details of this hotel for their next visit. It is also also walking distance from the train station. Would not recommend for elderly or disabled as stairs within hotel.

Tornabuoni Beacci Hotel is located in a magnificent place. It is actually in the most elegant main street of all Florence, as it deserves, which is 2-5 minutes walking distance from all major sight-seeing points of Florence. The important consideration however for us to give a "10" to the hotel is its very clean and antique fiorentine style decorated rooms and lovely hotel staff. From the receptionists to the bar tender and waitresses we received perfect and very wrelcoming service. It was the best small hotel I've seen so far in Italy (Considering it was my 4th time in the country for a total of almost 100 days, I think I am able to make some comparison.)

We loved this hotel. The location was excellent, the staff were friendly and helpful and our room was attractive and comfortable. Because it is situated at the top of a building (reception is on the fourth floor)it was very quiet and had the additional benefit of a delightful terrace overlooking the city. The only niggle were the instructions provided by venere.com on how to find the place by car. It was wildly inaccurate and took us over an hour to find it through all the one way streets.

I booked this hotel for myself and my friend , Eileen deCristofano for a 3 night stay. IT was a great location, wonderful service, wireless internet at no charge, good food and a delightful rooftop terrace for afternoon drinks. The most comfortable beds we stayed in during our entire time in Europe. The hotel was very nice, wonderful breakfast and even though we overlooked the noisiest of streets, when the shutters and windows are closed almost all noise is shut out. The only issue that we had was that the drain/vent in the floor of the bathroom was broken and it therefore let a sewer smell into the bathroom. They came and dumped in some cleaner that helped for about two hours, but because it was a malfunction in the closing mechanism, the smell returned for our four day stay. Despite this, the hotel is great.

My primary negative comment is that your on line system made it difficult to distinguish between a single room with 1 bed and a single room with 2 twin beds. Although, I needed two rooms (one with a double bed to accomodate two people and one room with two twin beds), the hotel indicated that is not what I had reserved. I ended up having to pay 80Euro extra to get what I thought that I had reserved through your system. On the positive side, the hotel was well situated, had a beautiful roof top patio, and had very nice staff.

I spent most most of my vacation in Florence. The location was perfect. Being a young single woman traveling alone, I felt very safe in the area. The staff was very nice and accomodating, especially to the 3am phone calls I was receiving from CA. The lounge area is very relaxing. My favorite was the garden terrace, where I took my pastries and treats and sat with my journal and books. It's very peaceful. I go to Italy at least once a year, and when in Florence, this hotel will be the only place I stay.

An absolutely charming hotel. Friendly and competent staff, willing to help with any request (restaurant reservations, directions, train schedules). The room we had was spacious, comfortable and filled with very pretty antiques (or nice reproductions). Loved the breakfast room too. Filled with sun, quiet and a nice variety of food and the breakfast staff knows how to welcome the traveller into a new day in a quiet manner. In summary, after a long day of sightseeing, we felt as if we were coming home, not to an anonymous, box.
