Location is good but disappointed their services... -Although we booked double room, we were allotted two single bed room where was very small. We could change the room finally. -Limited room service and housekeeping were not acceptable. When we asked to borrow knives and forks to have wine and some meals in our room, the roomservice declined our request. And it seemed housekeeping worked just during daylight. When we asked them to bring amenities in our room at the night, they did't do because housekeepers were not there.

I was traveling for business and was looking for a good location and a quiet night. My room was spacious and the bed was OK. The bathroom was fine too. Reception and hotel furniture are out of date but this hotel is OK (good value for money). Staff friendly and service oriented.

Very good location within walking distance of Old Town, Opera and shopping district, but (apart from the bathrooms, which are modern) the public areas and bedrooms are sorely in need of renovation. The hotel has an air of general neglect and the "First Class" description and top-notch prices are no longer justifiable.

My wife and I have been at Grand Hotel Boscolo in Lyon already in 2006. We are lucky to be able to park our car in the garage of the hotel this time. The complimentary breakfast offered is a plus. We stay 3 nights this time to enjoy Lyon to the full.

I was there with my wife. The hotel is well located in the hart of Lyon. Walking distance to all the attractions. The room was very good and recently renovated. A nice breakfast was included as promotion (I do not know if it would be worth 20Euros, but it was correct) Really the only thing that did not comply with a 4 stars hotel is the lack of fitness room. At the end of the autumn is almost mandatory to have one. I expect that Boscolo will correct that small incorrectness. Next time I travel to Lyon, I certainly will stay at Boscolo Grand Hotel.

The hotel has a wonderful location, right in the middle of lyon. it is a nice old building, and therefore in great need of a renovation. bathrooms are in original 70's style, brown-yellow tiles. if you take a shower in the bathtub, you will set the hole room under water. the spacious elevator is reserved for room-service, guests have to use another tiny and hidden elevator. great location, but really needs renovation!

Great hotel. Nice place to stay in Lyon and great location for sightseeing and restaurants. Hotel was clean and rooms were small, but fine. White bedpread was a little gross/grey, but linens were otherwise OK. Clean enough. Not terribly close to Perrache or Part Dieu train stations, but we took a taxi from Part Dieu for around twenty euro. Don't know if you could do much better closer to Perrache, but it wouldn't be a terribly far walk to Perrach if you have light luggage. Breakfast was included in our rate, but probably was not worth paying for otherwise. Would stay again and recommend to friends.

The hotel is clean and centrally located. Rooms very spacious but are noisy, we could hear people next door. Also the pay for view movies were unavailable and there was no menu for room service.

Good service and strategic location for visiting the city, clean but definitely old and not up to the standard for a 4-star hotelpretending to be 'First Class', or other Boscolo properties. Needs to be restored. There may be 3-star hotels recently built or refurbished which look better. But with a special discount is ok, just do not expecet a brand new place as it looks in the pictures.

Absolute shocking service / management. Breakfast at €16 per person in addition to room prices was of shocking quality. Rooms shabby and small. Room felt dirty and bathroom has not been renovated since the 1970's, nor does it seem the bed covers/curtains. Aboslutly shocking for teh prices charged. I will never go back and would strongly recommend that no one stays there.

It might be €16, but you breakfast well considering, enough to carry you though the day if need be. PS, the parking request didn't get through, but there is local supervised parking at same cost within 200m.

While onsite parking was indicated in your offer, only two spaces are available for all of the guests and usually these are taken. However good public underground parking is available at a short walking distance. Still this is an inconvenience.

We stayed here for two nights and the location of the hotel was fantastic. I felt that the rooms, although comfortable and very clean, could do with some modernisation. Ours was a little 'tired' with the bathroom fittings a little dated. The hairdryer was completely useless and should be replaced. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. There is no restaurant in the hotel because of the fine selection in central Lyon, on the hotel's doorstep. Right across the road is Nicolas Le Bec, one of the top contemporary chefs in Lyon, France's gastronomic capital. The restaurant which has a Michelin star, is very expensive though and often busy -booking necessary...well worth a trip if you wish to splash out though! The hotel has a bar on the ground floor but at €12 for a gin and tonic, we felt it overpriced. Minibar in rooms stocked soft drinks and beer -no wine or spirits. Overall this is a good hotel with helpful staff in an excellent location for both the first-time visitor to Lyon or somebody more familiar with the city.

Not really "First Class", but very good. Hotel parking was not provided at no charge as I expected, so this was another 20 Euros a day. TV worked poorly and had very few channels. Excellent location. The check-in and check-out was excellent.

The setting was pleasant and staff were welcoming the room itself was clean and attractive. However, it was very noisy throughout the night. We were able to hear someone next door talking on their mobile. At one point the room upstairs turned a tap on which was left to drip all night and was audible in our room. There was an inch gap at the bottom of our door- light from the hall flooded the room all night and also meant that anyone who walked up the corridor woke us. At approx 8.30am just when we were managing to get to sleep after the dripping tap was turned off, piped music came on in the hall meaning we were unable to sleep again. I wouldn't return here or recommend the hotel on the basis of this. A nice hotel which was unfortunately spoiled by a terrible night's sleep.

My son and I liked the place. We were there just one night. Only slight issue was that we had to pay 15 euros for the parking which I thought was free. Also the entrance and exit from the car pak is really narrow. Good we had a small car. If you have a medium size or larger you will not be able to park I feel.

We found the hotel much better than your previous reviewers led us to believe. We booked this for a weekend break and it was superb. Right in the centre of the old pictoresque part of lyon. Close to superb shopping, lovely alfresco dining (even in October) and the breakfast had the lightest fluffiest omelette imaginable. Parking wasn't a problem but the one way system around the hotel was!

I found Boscolo a pleasant hotel with welcoming and service-minded staff. The hotel is situated very close to old Lyon and most of the highlights of the city. The only suggestion for change is a renovation of the breakfast room which was quite anonymous.

Whilst the location of this hotel was very good the rooms were well below average. The decor is very "tired" and the rooms are well overdue for redecoration. I feel this hotel is only a 3 star and not a 4 star as is shown.

Although the Hotel seemed wonderful, it was evident that it had seen better days. As far as overall ambiance and the quality of the rooms go, it was fine. However, the staff was untrained and disorganized, the staff at the reception was downright unfriendly. The bar did not open until 5:30 pm. Overall if you just want a room, this hotel is fine, however if you want service go somewhere else.

Having requested superior room, very disappointing. Had to check with reception that we had actually got a superior room and not standard. Expensive for standard of hotel - very surprised that this is 4* and not a very average 3*. Staff pretty disinterested, public areas jaded and dirty. A set of step ladders stayed on the landing for over a day! Bedroom not ready for when we arrived mid-day, which is not surprising as our room did not get cleaned until late afternoon. The bedroom was old and tatty and looked in desperate need of updating. Restaurant in hotel never open. The only thing I could recommend this hotel for is the location!
