Café Maure de la Mosquée – This café is located in the shaded, tranquil courtyard setting of the Grande Mosquée de Paris. Here you can enjoy delicious pastries and a cup of sweet mint tea. During certain times of the year, the trees in the courtyard are filled with figs and blossoms that will eventually become figs. The Jardin des Plantes is just a brief stroll around the corner from the café.
Open-air cinema, Parc de la Villette – From the Canal Saint Martin, take a walk through the northeastern part of the city to the Parc de la Villette where a huge movie screen greets you with some older, classic films that you can enjoy in the late evening. As the evening breezes gently blow, spread a blanket out and enjoy some bread, cheese, and wine Parisian picnic style.
The Promenade Plantée – Once an elevated rail line, this it was recently converted into an alluring, beautifully landscaped park that can be reached via a flight of stone steps located in the rear of the famous Bastille Opera House. This relaxing attraction features benches, flowers, an open area, trees, and water features. There are numerous spots where you can walk back down to the street for a relaxing drink and food.
Piscine Josephine Baker – Located on quai François Mauriac, this is a great place for basking in the sunshine on a warm Parisian day. There is a barge on the River Seine with a large pool inside of it and a roof that retracts, as well. Although the water in the pool is sourced from the panoramic Seine, it is filtered to ensure that it is safe for public use. When the days get exceptionally warm during the summer months, this is one of the more popular places to visit and enjoy cooling off by taking a few dips in the pool.
