All of us want nothing less than excellent service wherever we go. That’s why most people stay away from companies that give otherwise. However, traveling to new places can especially be challenging because you have to deal with businesses you’ve never dealt with before and with new people whom you don’t know and don’t know you (unless you’re an Angelina Jolie or a Brad Pitt). How can you increase the chances of getting the best professional service even in a new and unfamiliar place?
1. Do your research.
The advent of the Internet leaves us with almost no excuse to be uninformed. Before you start packing for your vacation or business trip, research about the place and gather as much feedback from locals and visitors as possible. If you’re booked in a certain hotel, get information on which nearby restaurants, car rental services, etc. offer the best deals in terms of rates and professional service so you won’t have to spend a lot of time looking for them once you get there. Know which local businesses give poor service and stay away from those.
2. Travel off season.
One of the obvious perks of traveling off season is low rates. But more than that, traveling off season also means there are fewer tourists in your destination, which means fewer customers to cater to and which in turn increases the chances of you getting good service anytime you’ll need it. Going to extremely populated destinations during vacation season increases the risk of falling in longer lines, being listed in waiting lists, and other hassles that can take some of the joy out of your trip.
3. Give what you can.
When you hold back on information that could be helpful, you might receive results that you didn’t expect. When booking a hotel or a flight, specify the things that you want or do not want. It pays to get into specifics than simply say, “somewhere nice and cool” because you never know what could be given to you. It also pays to make a list of the things that you’re looking for and things you want to avoid in a service. Communicate these to the agent and should certain factors be impossible, it will be easier to make amends with your list on hand.
4. Remember names.
A lot of people overlook the importance of this habit, keeping in mind all the business details but not the names of the persons they get service from. It is very important to remember names because it is a form of respect which tells someone that you remember him or her and not just the good service you received. When you are in a hotel, calling the waiter or any of the staff on a first name basis commands more of their attention and may earn you top service every time you need it during your stay.

I would say that getting best travel services is like the hassle free traveling. It should include your comfort 1st of all. If you are comfortable you may also want to spend little more.
