Stockholm is a family-friendly city to visit, and has several attractions for the kids. Many family attractions in Stockholm are in the centre of the city, and within a walking distance from each other. Many museums offer special tours for kids, and many children’s attractions are free. Prams and trams are easy to take on public transport, and kids go free in buses on the weekend.

One of the loveliest and most interesting cities in the entire world is Venice, Italy. It was constructed on a lagoon some 600 years ago and has remained virtually unchanged since that point in time. The city has decayed somewhat since then but its fascinating character, heavy tourist traffic, and romantic charm remains the same as it has always been. However, what if you are vacationing with your children? If there is one thing you can say about the city of Venice, it is definitely not a place where they will get bored.

Originally founded as a British trading colony in the early 1800s, the Singapore has grown into a huge city-state in Southeast Asia. It is one of the most popular tourist destinations in this region of the world and is home to the busiest seaport in the world. Singapore is characterized by great shopping venues, a lively nightlife scene, and some of the world’s tastiest cuisine, all of which feature a combination of Chinese, Indian, and Malay culture. However, most people don’t realize that this is a great place for a family vacation.

I sometimes feel a bit sorry for the children when they’re taken around cities like Florence and dragged to boring places like museums, galleries, churches and shops. They might realise what they’ve missed out on in about twenty years but that’s not what they want to hear there and then. What they want to hear is they’re heading off to somewhere really fun today. So here are a few ideas for days out in between the Duomo and the Academy of Fine Arts. If Brad and Angelina can do it then so can you.

Denmark’s capital, Copenhagen, has repeatedly been recognised as one of the cities with the best quality of life. Bright, cosmopolitan and environmentally friendly (the water in the inner harbour is so clean it can be swum in) the city is a safe and popular destination for families. And with child-friendly museums, architecture that seems straight out of a fairy-tale and several amusement parks within easy reach, it’s not hard to see why.
