Continuing with my outdoor theme this week, I thought I’d seek out some bars in London with fabulous views. They make having an after work drink so much more fun, don’t you think? Here are my top ten:

You can’t write about great views without mentioning the OXO Tower. Even the lower restaurants have excellent views.
This bar is so much fun in Summer. If you don’t mind paying the cover charge (you’re in a swanky hotel after all), then you’ll get a fabulous view from the terrace over Trafalgar Square. Watch people playing in the fountain, kissing outside the National Gallery. Fun fun fun.
Punch and Judy
Not the best bar in London, by any stretch of the imagination, but if you fancy looking down on Covent Garden Market and watching the world go by, this is the place to do it. Make sure you get there early. The balcony is the best thing about the pub, but it fills up quickly.
Kensington Roof Gardens
This place is the epitome of drinking with a view. There aren’t many better, and this bar has the added bonus of flowers and prettiness.
Galvin at Windows
If you’re looking for a skytop view, then head to Galvin at Hyde Park, you’ll be pleased you did once you see the view.
The White Cross
This pub in Richmond has the most perfect riverside view. I love it here and will happily travel across London to spend the afternoon here.
This is the bar at Centre Point, and you’re not getting in unless you’re on the guest list. But, if you do, you’ll be treated to what’s probably the very best view in the whole of London. Well worth playing detective and finding out about those parties.
The cafe at the Design Museum even has little binoculars so you can check out the view of the river.
Tate Members Bar
Sneak in here (with a guest if you’re not a member yourself) and settle in with wine on the terrace. If you catch this place on a clear day, you’ll get a lovely view. But, if it’s overcast, do save you’re money and go to a cosy pub.
The Faltering Fullback
Look! A tree house! Lots of tree houses to play in! This bar in Finsbury Park might not have a fabulous skyline, but playing in trees has got to be much more fun than sitting inside.
Tell me your favourite bar with a view!
