Where the nightlife in Budapest is concerned, this is a city that does not like to disappoint the locals. Tourists will find the local party scene filled with dozens of uniquely original bars and nightclubs. So if you would rather be sitting in an Irish style pub and sipping a draught beer while still be influenced by the West, you won’t find that in the Budapest nightlife. And unlike the nightlife in other major European cities, there is none of the vulgar extravagance that you normally witness in their bars and clubs.

Budapest is a fantastic city for visitors to explore, not least because it really gives them two cities in one, Buda and Pest. The regal past of the Austro-Hungarian Empire is obvious throughout the city but it is mixed with the grimy industrialism of communism and the scars of its epic failure. Budapest is well connected to all the major cities of Europe as well as many further afield and has excellent infrastructure to support the growing number of visitors that arrive each year.

Budapest is endowed with natural hot water springs. A number of thermal baths are built to take full advantage of curative properties of these springs. Generally, the thermal bath water consists of fluoride ions, sodium, sulphate chloride, hydrogen carbonate, magnesium and calcium. These baths could help in treating damaged joints, degenerative diseases, neuralgia, vertebral disc dislocation and semi-acute arthritis. Temperature of the water varies between 21 degree Celsius and 78 degree Celsius. Some of these baths are gorgeous. Well-maintained public amenities ensure privacy and cleanliness. The city has both gender-specific and mixed baths. There is an entry fee to the baths, but discounted rates are available in the late evenings. This winter, spend leisure with friends and family or alone in the closest bath to your home or hotel.

Budapest, unlike its neighbours Prague and Vienna, has succumbed less to the ravages of tourism since the advent of low-cost airlines but this is slowly changing. It is also creeping more and more onto the itineraries of backpacking inter-railers and so Budapest is generally having its profile lifted within European tourism. This is a good thing generally, although it will also inevitable change the face of the city in the long term.
