Switzerland is world renowned for its great ski destinations. The Alps in the southern part of the country and Jura to the northwest, attract winter sports aficionados from all over the world. The following article provides information on some of the best ski resorts in Switzerland.

Andermatt – is one of those popular ski resorts that lull you into a sense of getting in touch with the season and well-being. But don’t get too complacent because the mountain and its ski runs are going to test your mettle, no matter what skill level slope you tackle.
Crans Montana – perched above the Rhone River Valley between Mont Blanc and the Matterhorn, this is Switzerland’s largest ski resort and is filled with some of the most exhilarating ski slopes in the world. Not to mention the fact that these slopes are wide open and the ski lift system was upgraded prior to the 1987 world championships. There are 3 primary ski areas: Cry d’Err-Bella Lui and Aminona-Petit Bonvin, the glacier at Plaine Morte and Les Violettes
The scenery is magnificent and the cross-country skiing trails are second to none. Additionally, this is an older resort and is very rustic yet has all the amenities you need.
Flims / Laax – although this is an unfamiliar ski area, especially where skiers from the UK are concerned, it deserves considerably more recognition than it currently receives. This is an excellent venue for the higher skilled skiers but it is also an excellent and oftentimes sunny spot to relax and enjoy a tasty lunch.
St. Moritz – no skiing vacation to Switzerland would ever be complete without taking in the slopes at St. Moritz. After a drink at the palace or tea at the Kulm, you might want to check your wallet to make sure you have the money for a lift ticket. St. Moritz is by far one of the most expensive ski resorts in the world, but never once have individuals been disappointed when vacationing here. There are three primary ski areas to take advantage of, specifically Corvatsch, Corviglia, and Pontresina.
Zermatt – a crystal blue sky and great snow are the key characteristics of Zermatt. It is recognized as being one of the most magnificent ski resorts and winter vacation destinations in the world. Even on the bad days when the weather is at its bleakest, the numerous restaurants and mountain huts make any day one of the best that you can experience when vacationing here. And the town of Zermatt has more than enough for hardcore skiers to look forward to after a grueling day of the slopes.
