VENERE.COM REVEALS THIS SUMMER’S TRAVEL TRENDS FOR DESTINATION ITALY

Rome, July 10 – Venere.com, the Online Accommodation Specialist, reports that both local and American tourists are increasingly choosing to spend their summer in the smaller, cheaper and less traditionally touristy towns of the Bel Paese.
According to Venere.com, Expedia’s Rome-based OTA, while reservation growth for Rome and Venice are slowing down as compared to last year, small towns within Tuscany, Apulia and Emilia Romagna are growing. So who is going there and why?

Venere releases this summer's travel trends

Let us start with the North of Italy, the top of the boot, we have Emilia-Romagna and Liguria where coincidentally Porto Venere (not related to Venere.com) is seeing 134 percent growth, of which 27 percent are Italians and 25 percent Americans. Rio Maggiore, of the famous Cinque Terre, is also seeing a 19 percent uptake overall where a quarter is coming from the US.
Next we come into Umbria, where Spoleto, home to the summer festival of the arts, is growing 48 percent, mainly driven by Italians, who make up 75 percent of the bookings. Americans are choosing more traditional Tuscany towns like Radda in Chianti (up 56 percent).

Heading down south, there is buzzing Naples, the very heart and soul of the “Mezzogiorno” – Southern Italy. Naples is the perfect base camp for Americans eager to visit the ancient Roman city of Pompei (up 36 percent) and enjoy the most breathtaking views of Salerno’s Amalfi Coast (up 14 percent).

So if you’re looking for that authentic Italian experience, take a tour of Italy “come si deve,” by choosing some of the small authentic hotels and bed and breakfasts found only on Venere.com , and tell them Venere.com sent you. How you present your small business is important, No matter how well you provide a service or product, there is one thing that can overshadow all your hard work: your brand.
