At Venere we like to think of ourselves not only as a hotel booking website, but also as people part of the wider community. For this reason, we recently launched a scholarship for students of Business and Tourism. So far this scholarship has been available in Australia, the UK, USA and Italy. We’re proud to support young people who might become the future leaders of our industry.
Up to 20 individual allocations of $1,000 were available to be awarded to students who have shown exceptional aptitude in their studies and who have been identified as ideal candidates to work in the industry.
One such recipient of the Venere scholarship is Thi Cam Nu Ho, studying for a post-graduate degree in International Business at the University of Wollongong. Although this year’s standard of application was of an exceptionally high caliber, Thi was a natural stand-out. Originally from Vietnam, not only had Thi to adapt to the academic rigor of master’s level education, but to cultural differences too. However, she took this opportunity and now she has made it.
Away from her family and working part-time while studying hard, Thi achieved phenomenal results during the 2013 academic year. Her International Business paper was completed with high distinction and she finished the year as the best out of 73 students overall. In a letter of reference from her tutor she was described as “A critical thinker who actively questions and integrates theory and practical situations, Thi is a motivated and enthusiastic student”. This glowing report helped Thi stand out as an ideal candidate for the award.
Thi says “It has always been my dream to study and work in Australia and I am now well on my way to fulfilling my career goal of working in the Human Resources Department of a multi-national company”.
We’re delighted to have been able to help Thi with her studies and wish her all the best with their studies in the future.
The Venere Scholarship is open to any student of Business & Tourism in an approved Australian, UK, US or Italian tertiary institution. Any students who feel they are able to demonstrate academic excellence are invited to submit an application.
