Planning a trip to San Francisco and are seeking the most gay friendly hotels? Then read on!

San Francisco was of course a pioneer of the gay rights movement in the USA, and it’s legacy is clearly visible today. Here are 5 of the most popular gay friendly hotel in the city.

Hotel Best Western Plus Americania
This is a very gay friendly hotel with a cool retro/chic vibe, which is admittedly an acquired taste, but on the whole works very well. The hotel is well located if you’re wishing to sample the fun that Frisco has to offer, but it is not situated in the most socially pleasing location. Tip: if you like your peace and quiet, ask for a room at the back, away from the noise of the busy street.

The Good Hotel
Appropriately named this one. It’s good, but it’s not great. Cheap and cheerful…most of the time. The service is pretty indifferent, with some of the staff providing great value, whereas others are rather unresponsive. The rooms on the whole are uninspiring. This is the hotel for you if you’re self sufficient and you only intend to use your accommodation for sleeping. And don’t plan on doing much of that!

Beck’s Motor Lodge
A motel in the classic mould. Ideally located, in the gay friendly area of San Francisco away from the tourist hubs, this could be the perfect choice for you depending on what you’re after. This is very much where cruisers lay their hats in San Francisco. It’s cheap and the rooms are clean and tidy. But here’s the rub: while the establishment is gay friendly, the staff tend not to be, which can make for poor service and uncomfortable tensions.

Clift Hotel
This is at the opposite end of the scale. Run by gays, for gays, this is a luxury hotel which is the perfect place to spoil yourself rotten with pampering and all night partying. Pleasant and helpful staff, beautiful decor, gorgeous suites and a very elegant vibe. Fabulous.

Hotel Rex, a Joie de Vivre Boutique Hotel
Joie de Vivre is an established chain of hotels, each of which is “Gay and Lesbian Approved”, and there can be few as fine as this one. Located in the centre of San Francisco, it has a beautiful artistic ambience which manifests itself in everything – the decor, the service, everything. Another stunning hotel.

Now, this is very interesting. Before, gay people receive a lot of discrimination from everybody but now, they are accepted and being treated well by the government. It’s a good news for all of them that they can read positive things about them like this blog. They would feel very happy reading this and also check on the great hotels in San Francisco where it’s gay friendly.
