Record Store Rome

The culture, history, nightlife, restaurants, and sightseeing are what attract the majority of the international travelers to the city of Rome. However, for the aficionados of the different music genre, the city of Rome offers some great places to shop for new and vintage styles of music and get some outstanding values in the process. Whether it is new or previously owned CD’s and records, you’re bound to find what you are looking for at one of the shops that we have listed below as our top picks for record shops in Rome.

Elastic Rock – features new CD’s and used ones that are all in excellent condition. Used ones run from €5 to €10 ($7 to $12) while new ones average €17 to €18 ($22 to $23). Britpop, new wave, punk, and rock music can be found here in this family friendly music shop which is typically always crowded.

Goodfellas – the primary music genre offered here is alternative and the prices on new CD’s run about the same price as what they do at the establishment listed above.

Billy’s Bones – this is one of the largest, most popular record stores in Latina so you can always expect it to be crowded no matter what time of the day or night you enter. The popularity stems from the fact that they literally carry every genre of music imaginable.

Disfunzioni Musicali – whether it’s alternative rock, classic rock, jazz, metal, or pop, you’re bound to find what you are looking for here. Just beware that they are an upscale, high-dollar shop. However, they also own the second hand music store located right next door to the main building.

Just Like Heaven – prices are similar to the first two establishments listed above where new and used CD’s are concerned. Most of the music assortment is based on owner preference but they do offer a good selection of Britpop, Gothic, new wave, punk, and rock. Despite the owner preference factor, they are into music and are very helpful.

Revolver – almost everything from Britpop to rock and all music genres in between can be purchased here. They have an excellent assortment and you can also find some rarities from music eras long gone by.

Millie Records – the primary focus is on hard rock, heavy metal, and a ton of jazz. Although there is less offered in other music venues, the staff is extremely friendly and will be happy to assist you in finding what you are looking for.

Doctor Music – offers all types of music venues, but they are pricey. Additionally, they carry a lot of vinyl (records) from back in the day when those were still being manufactured and you will even find some bootlegged music as well.

Nice overview, I get in the mood for a shopping trip to Rome.

“They carry vinyl (records) from back in the day when those were still being manufactured”

Nowadays there is a small vinyl revival. Many new albums are released on vinyl again.

This might just be useful if you were to supply addresses. Or are we just supposed to wander the streets hoping to get lucky?
