The best ticket prices to Paris are usually the ones arriving to Beauvais Airport. Located outside the city, it offers a shuttle service to/from the airport to the center of Paris. The shuttle departs about 20 minutes after every flight and one-way tickets are €15. Buy the ticket outside the airport, but don’t be fooled by the huge line inside.  From Paris to the airport, there’s a shuttle 3 hours and 15 minutes before every flight.

Use the metro to move around the city. Save money and buy 10 tickets at a time, but if you are here more than a couple of days it’s better to buy the “Carte Orange” valid for a week. Another way to move around while enjoying many of the city’s sights is to take one of the many Hop On/Hop Off tourist buses. Take the whole ride first so you’ll have the chance to see many parts of the city in a couple of hours. The tickets are usually good for two days, so you can use the bus to take you all around town.

A visit to Paris is not complete without some art! Home of some of the world’s best museums: you can choose from a wide variety depending on your interests. Entrance is free the first Sunday of every month in most of the city’s museums. Don’t miss the Mona Lisa at the Louvre and the Impressionist works at Musee d´Orsay.

A Seine river cruise is also a common tourist tradition while visiting Paris. The best time to take it is definitely at night. There’s nothing more romantic that enjoying a spectacular view of the city of lights from an original “French Bateaux” cruising the river. Don’t forget to take a light sweater just in case.

Art in Paris is everywhere. Some metro stations are decorated according to the sights closest to it, for example Louvre-Rivoli, Concorde, Palais Royal, and Abbesses, among many others. Some public restrooms are also worth a visit! Don´t miss the one in the corner of the Madeline Church.

Musee d´Orsay has a beautiful large restaurant with good leisurely service. I go there for lunch and order french dishes and wine. The prices are reasonable and they are used to accommodating tourists. A holiday or a weekend day is probably not a good day to go. It is a lovely example of French culinary and decorative art. Allow 2 hours for the experience. I believe the building used to be a Train Station – Gare d’Orsay and they have made a great museum there. Don’t miss it !
