Located in the Campania region of southern Italy is the city of Naples, the 3rd largest city in Italy. The city sits on northern edge of Naples Bay, considered one of the most stunning bays in Italy. The islands of Capri and Ischia are located close to the city as well as the always spectacular Mt. Vesuvius. With its art, climate, cuisine, culture, and history, Naples has been a favorite tourist destination for many years. For many international travelers, it is the Naples nightlife that appeals to them.
We have a listed our recommendations below if you’re looking for a nice evening out away from the bar and club scene:
Galleria Umberto I
This social center is located across from the Teatro San Carlo. With its numerous restaurants and shopping venues, this is a great place for a night time stroll through one of the city’s social centers.
Gran Cafe Gambrinus
After your stroll through the Galleria, consider sitting down to an enjoyable meal here. It is the oldest café still operating in Naples and was built in 1860. Cakes, cappuccino, fried pizza, and pastries are the main fare on the menu here.
The Teatro San Carlo
If a night at the opera is what you are craving, this is the place for you. It was built in 1737 to honor the birthday of King Charles and is one of Italy’s largest opera houses as well as having some astounding acoustics.
If you are in the mood for a lively evening out of dancing, dining, and drinking, then you will want to consider the following establishments:
The Chez Moi
Definitely one of Naples’ pickiest nightclubs, this establishment is run with an iron hand and will turn you away if they feel you might be a little too rowdy with the type of crowd attending the evening. The night club has seen some of the “upper crust” of the city enter its doors, including clothing designers, local government officials, and other Naples socialites spending an evening here.
By far, this is Naples largest disco club and is extremely popular with the younger generation 4 nights a week – Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday. So if you would prefer partying with a more mature crowd, you won’t want to shop up those nights. Dancing, drinking, rock concerts, and videos are abundantly offered here.
Piazza di Spagna
One of Naples’ more popular hotspots. The club features lots of dancing from Friday to Sunday. However, the club closes down for vacation during the month of August.
An ever popular venue for the blues and jazz music aficionado, Riot is open Thursdays through Sundays for some great evenings filled with these genres of music.
