Munich has some of the most outstanding pubs and cocktail bars that should be experienced whenever you are visiting the city. The following are our 8 top choices for pubs and cocktail bars in Munich:
Alter Wirt Ramersdorf – a children’s playground and a shaded beer garden are the key features of this relaxing country style pub. It not only offers some of the best German and international beers, it also has a fine reputation for the food that it serves with schnitzel being the most popular item on the menu.
Augustiner Keller – an indoor beer hall and a huge beer garden make Augustiner Keller one of Munich’s most popular venues with locals and international visitors alike.
Hofbräukeller – one of the largest beer gardens and halls in Munich as well as being one of the most popular, this venue always boasts a lively crowd, especially during the pleasant summer months.
Anna Bar – this stylish bar and restaurant is situated in the relaxing confines of the Anna Hotel on Karlsplatz. Some of Munich’s tastiest beers can be found here but they also have a great reputation for their exotic menu and high quality cuisine.
Bar Muenchen – you’ll find the atmosphere here to be homely yet intimate with its wood paneled walls. You can enjoy a cocktail or two and a delicious meal each day of the week. (NOTE: menus change daily)
Cohibar City – located in a basement, this charming small Latino bar is situated near Maximilianstrasse. Although this is a rather smaller venue, Friday and Saturday nights are alive with friendly locals who love to Salsa dance the night away.
Cortiina Bar – located inside the Cortiina Hotel, a favorite lodging facility among many international travel circles, the bar has an atmosphere that you would find in a cocktail lounge or upscale restaurant. It has a great reputation among the locals because of the more exotic cocktails they serve along with the standard fare.
Falks Bar – located within one of Munich’s most exclusive hotels, Falks Bar attracts more mature and wealthier clientele. High ceilings and mirror covered walls make the place look absolutely huge. However, it is a great place to go relax and enjoy a tasty cocktail or two.

There are pubs and cocktail bars in any city in the world, if you’re in Munich avoid them and go straight to the beer halls!! (or gardens if the weather permits)
